Ello gents, i'm new to the ps3hax scence, i fear i'm totally screwed as i've have already performed the over the net 4.11 firmware update.. i am basically stuck with it for are there any working legit hacks for this? i scene a ton of youtube video's that claim to show and provide bogus links for downloads, can anyone enlighten me on the subject a bit? Much appreciated , i have spent hours trying to figure this out with little success.. ultimately i'd really like to backup my 13+ collection of retail PURCHASED games to have a more seamless gaming expirence , thanks again

hi guys
just wanted to share a terrible incident that happened with me today. 20 days ago i told the manager of landmark store (andheri infinity mall.INDIA) to keep the ps3 god of war 3 console safe for me ill come on 4th of april and i will take it... today i went to the store .. i bought the console and when i opened it ... it wasn't new..it has been used before ..it was damaged as well...then also i was ready to take it in 15K then i checked the FW version..it was on 3.7... i lost my cool at that time... i had a good chat with the manager and i told him to return my hard earn cash... my heart broke at that time
can anyone please tell me how can i recognize a 3.5 version please..without opening it should i buy a 160gb...? i heard that most of 160gb is either on 3.5 or below ?

Unfortunately, my 160 GB came with 3.60

If its a new in a box, go check here www.ps3devwiki.com and click on sku model it'll tell you which consoles has pre-installed firmwares that's 3.50 and lower. If its a used ps3, ask to test it and see if its 3.55 and lower. On used models, its you and your luck.

thanks for the reply man... i really dont understand that table
when i went to buy the console its model number was CECH-2008b

to my understanding all console whose manufacturing date was before 2011 is hackable ?

I was the one looking for a Hackable PS3 too. I went to the same store that u went to and i chose the same God Of War 3 bundle but the box seemed to be worn off. i was going to buy that but luckily I found the same God Of war 3 bundle ar a Croma store near my place so didnt have to go to Andheri. I stay at Thane. long trip cut short. Look for a God of War 3 bundle or the bundles which have games released till december 2010. all of them will be on FW below 3.50. Dont go for Move bundles there is a very very less chance that a move bundle is hackable or with FW less than 3.50

120/250gb = hackable in bundles, 160/320gb = not hackable in bundles. Easy rule of thumb.

Yes, you are correct. The CECH-2008b came with firmware 2.76 and the person that sold it to the store, updated it.
