Your ps3, is possible to jailbreak. But since you're on 4.00, the only possible way to downgrade is with a hardware flasher(proskeet/e3 flasher/teensy).

So I got a Ps3 That was running 2.42, it has a broken Diskdrive So my buddy just gave it to me. I used your tutorial to try and upgrade it to 3.55 and it gets to about 66% and then fails with an error, and wont do anything, I re-downloaded the 3.55 firmware, changed flashdrives.. It still fails everytime.

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

EDIT: Okay, so I tried to install that above, and got the same error.

8001F14E - Hardware error. because the Blueray drive is removed completely. Got this error running the 3.55 OFW Upgrade from 2.42 Now the system is just stuck in a update "loop" How do I bypass this issue?

Edit 2: Reinstalled the Blue ray drive and it finished like a champ! woo.

No, It appears to be stock 3.55, I'm a little stumped on how to install Rogero, but i'm doing some looking.

Okay, so you're on 3.55 OFW. At least you got it back in running condition. Research Rogero v3 CFW. It states it has noBD bypass.

I'm interested in jailbreaking it, but I have absolutely no idea where to start or what to do, or if it's even possible on my console and firmware. Can someone point me in the right direction, please?

did u buy it brand new and whats the model number on the back of the ps3 ? eg cechg03
