yes i can boot to recovery.i choosed all option but it says hdd cannot be accessed.some option sent me back to connect controller screen.tried to update fw on option 6,but it took long time to check the fw.seem recovery mode are useless for now

Hey guys. I originally asked about this in TDCroPower2's post a few days ago but got no reply but I will try here as well. Sorry for spamming I just want an honest opinion.

So I have CECH-2503B (320GB) PS3 with Datecode 1a. As you can see in ps3devwiki here note 2), I cant downgrade to 3.55 and I get immediate shutdown of PS3 after running e3_downgrade.bin I've tried this with different E3 Flasher updates and even with the progskeet patches. The thing is if you read about my PS3's metldr here apparently whoever wrote the page says they fixed the downgrade.bin (I imagine that its for progskeet) Anyone have any idea if it is possible to downgrade? My minimum firmware comes up as 3.56 but I was sure I read somewhere that I can downgrade lower even if I have that!

Waiting for my E3 Flasher to come in the mail. Just a quick question. I've got a Fat console (CECHL02) which I've had running CFW 3.55 for a while and my brother decided to update it to 3.65. I've installed a 700GB HDD in it and it full of PS3 Games and homebrew apps.

What i want to know is will the backup utility backup all the games as well as the saves and user IDs?

My other option is that I have an old 40GB HDD I can install for the downgrade process but once i'm back to CFW 3.55 is its simple as putting my 700GB HDD back in and it will work?

I think I remember someone say that only some could go to 3.55. And the only way to tell if you had one that could, is to try and downgrade it.

Since part of the firmware is stored on the hdd, it will need to be formatted.

You can use the backup utility to backup your hdd. To a 700gb or higher Usb hdd, and then restore it after ther downgrade.

Everything will be restored, except for trophies.

I am on Rogero 3.1 and my hdd froze while launching a game (that was installed on the hdd) so I switched it off. Now when I switch it on it boots in recovery mode (connect controller, press ps button and ask to install firmware 3.55). I suspect the HDD is faulty

Do I use the CFW rogero p3upgrad.pup (the one that spoof 4.11) or the OFW p3upgrad.pup? I cant get any of the other options by holding the on switch to reinstall system files.

Use Rogero 3.1 if you have never qa flagged. If you install OFW you will brick.

I have 2508B console with datacode 1a. It has 3.56 firmware installed!
Sucsessfully, i have downgraded it to 3.55 Rogero with E3 flasher.
Manual says, that i need to downgrade again it to 3.41 OFW and than i can update to any 3.55 CFW.
Ask: Can i downgrade it, if factory firmware is 3.50?
Can i downgrade from 3.55 Rogero to 3.50 OFW and than to 3.55 CFW

run QA flag and downgrade to 3.50 as lowest firmware version is 3.50. then install OFW 3.55 followed by CFW 3.55
