I figured as much... U are probably stuck with this cause without a good dump of the nand which is where the boot sector is... u can't even recover it with prog skeet. Now, I have been hearing talk of a so called generic dump that is supposedly supposed to work... but as i was reading it already caused one guys usb ports to not work. So i wouldn't even risk it.

Yea, here....but keep in mind this is extremely new and is only being worked on with an E3 flasher, not progskeet. But in theory is the same... So just read through the thread and ask questions if need be. I'll let u go from here and i hope u get it working again...http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php...144#post352144

If the console is on 3.73, don't put it in FSM, as others have said. You can get out of it with a flasher, but not with any available lv2diag.self (Sony revoked those files, they don't work after 3.55) You said it's an "L" model, do you mean CECHLxx? That has NOR flash memory, not NAND, so you could use NOR clips with a flasher (so much easier than soldering) to downgrade it. However, if the flash is corrupted badly enough, you might not be able to get a valid dump in the first place to downgrade it. If you can successfully downgrade it to 3.55, put it in FSM and try the rsod fix. After all this, the rsod fix might not work

Sounds like too much trouble to bother IMO, and the money you'll have to charge them for your time and effort could go into a used PS3. I think Sony charges $150 for basically a trade-in refurb'd unit with a warranty, so unless you already have a flasher (about $65 for a progskeet, more with clips) you'll have to invest money to (possibly) fix this thing. However, flashers are a good tool to have if you fix a lot of consoles. Your call, but I'd call that machine a dead horse

Yeah. You would need to downgrade, then do the rsod fix. I have done some with e3 flasher. I only had a problem downgrading one that was already in FSM.

Well I do have a ProgSkeet. and Made some cables today going to wire it up. here are some pics of my cables there 23cm long what you think?

I don't care to much about wasting time on soldering the wires and trying to downgrade. I will post photos of my install as well will be my first ProgSkeet install on a PS3. When the PS3 is wired up what is the first steps to take towards Downgrading a PS3 (CECH*) L modal ?
Also the unit is on Firmware 3.72 not 3.73 just checked recovery menu to double check.
