hey after many months of being on 3.55 (kmeaw) my sister decided to stick the portal 2 disk which i hid under the sofa and upgrade to play it. As you can imagine i was extremely frustrated when i saw this :/

anyways, i wanted to ask which hardware flasher is the best way to downgrade the PS3?

The majority is probably going to say E3 Flasher.

If you are going to buy one I too would say e3flasher with dual booting.
This way you can have cfw and ofw so your sister doesnt mess it up again! :P

Damn, what did you say/do to her? lol.

Simple really though just do what others have said and get a flasher depending on whether you have a NAND or NOR console. What model PS3 do you have?

There is a lot to be said for taping over the eject button and disc slot.

Don't leave your tech in harms way ESPECIALLY round females....

I have a slim. Didn't really do much, just told her what she did and how annoyed I was.

Is a slim NOR?

[EDIT] I'll get the CECH thing when I get home, but it's a 250gb slim (my 40gb fat got the YLOD, so I sold it and bought my slim last year).

Luckily my wife only plays harvest moon on ps1!! If you're gonna waste $150 on a flasher, might as well just save a bit more and get a slim on 3.55.

Take it from me: I have the dual boot and it's a pain in the ass.

Ya since my ssytem was updated by my mom I plan on just going out and buying a 160gb slim which I've done countless research for it has older firmware. Which is all I needed to know. I'll be back to cfw in no time. I just need to get paid and it's as good as mine. Ever since my mom did that I have been reading the scene news and really there isnt much I've missed. lol I guess I can't be too surprised.
As for the downgrading methods. I've been scared to death about getting a flasher...I just can't take that chance that my system will brick. Then I'd be stuck having to get that 160 as the main console, I am hoping to keep both. Then I'll have one on cfw and the other on ofw.

the thing is i dont want to buy another console, as all my save files etc. are on my current PS3, and most of them are protected save files (eg assassins creed).

[EDIT]: What do some people say to buy progskeet instead of E3?
