This isn't a buy, sell, or trade type of thread but I figured this is the only place it would make sense to put something like this. I have a Fat American launch day model PS3 CECHA01 60GB with a minimum firmware value of 1.00. It is in excellent condition. I was thinking of selling it to a friend who would value CFW. Is there anything that would make this unit "more valuable" than a similar Fat PS3 with PS2 backwards compatibility. And what do you think a reasonable price would be

It's a CECHA01 so it'll sell itself...best PS3 ever made and with the full hardware backwards compatibility, extra USB ports, flash card readers and it's stunning looks, it's up there with one of the best if not arguably (not by me) THE best console (model) ever made.

If it's been well looked after with no major damage (scratches, scuffs etc.), overheating/Blu-ray drive issues then that's even better with regards to adding extra value to it.

Just to give you an idea Gamestop still sells this unit refurbished for $229.99

Now that is gamestop price, and most people will not pay that.

Hell my ps3 (same model as OP) died and so if I had the money I would definitely buy this considering I bought mine for $642.

Agreed I also paid launch price :D Both of my PS3s are dead, and the only way I will buy another one, is if it has backwards compatibility. I prefer to have the NTSC 60 gig with the Emotion Engine (like I had from launch until a few months ago). I just havent found one for the right price yet I occasionally come across a cheap PS3. They are now hard to come across because of the YLoD.

If you are to get this model, with all the knowledge we have on the fail rate, I would look into cooling mods. KillerBug has done some awesome stuff with cooling, as well as many other members.
