CAN'T delete a folder from HDD. Help? - PS3Hax Network

Hi!
So I've been having this super annoying problem for 2 days. Basically I've finished playing Heavy Rain and as I usually do with the games I've played, I delete them from my HDD (went in Multiman's main manu, clicked triangle and I chose the "Delete" option). It deleted around 64 files and then my PS3 froze. I gave it a restart, went into MM again to find out that Heavy Rain had dissapeared and I was like "okay, great!" but MM had only deleted 2 or 3 GB of data so I went into the file manager to try to delete the game folder manually but surprisingly, it wasn't there! (basically before playing HR, I had 29GB of free space, after FTP'ing it -> 2-3GB, after the corrupted deletion -> 4 -5GB... it just doesn't add up!). So I moved all the games from the GAMEZ folder and put them into a new GAMES folder and now I'm trying to delete GAMEZ with absolutly no results (tried it with Multiman, Awesome File Manager, FTP delete - useless, renamed it, moved it...). I get no errors while doing this; it's like glued to the PS3. I REALLY don't want to format my HDD, but if I were to format it, would it remove my jailbreak?

is the folder away or not? or do you mean the other files are undeleteable?

No it will not remove your jailbreak just all your pkg's like multiman and ftp but it would take care of your problem. Then just reinstall your tools again and what ever game.

well basically I had Heavy Rain in GAMEZ (and three other games which I eventually moved into GAMES). GAMEZ is the undeletable folder (it also shows that it's empty ???)... it's just there, I don't get any errors when I'm trying to delete it, it's absolutely stuck to the HDD! It seems to be some kind of residue "invisible" file in there that won't let me delete the folder (in fact i'm pretty sure it's that since it takes about 20 GB of space). Seriously I have ~ 111 GB usable space (around 50GB are filled with games, 25 GB with game data and 15GB other files, so 20GB occupied ???? since this retarded corrupted deletion)

post your info in the thread that i posted, its the same problem i have to, i had no option as to format the drive, let us know if you can fix this!

okay then, but If I format my HDD, is there any chance it will remove my jailbreak/ brick my console?

No it wont brick or remove jb just delete hdd no big deal just reinstall your stuff

yeah right it still takes time to reinstall if you have/had allot of stuff on hdd.

...did you try deleting the folder manually from your pc? Sometimes this happens in multiMAN, but there's no need to freak out.

Worst case scenario: Delete multiMAN, re-install full version, update it and NOW plug in your usb. (after deleting the unnecessary file)
