On step 3, should i format to NTFS or FAT32?

Things you will need:

Hacked PS3
FAT32 formatted USB flash drive (512MB or higher)

Step 1.

Download PSNinja V4 here: http://www.mediafire.com/?vhfvkqimkb9kdiq

Put it on the root of your flash drive, install it on your PS3, launch it and then use it to wipe your PS3s history. This step is essential.

Step 2.

Dispose of all of your homebrew.

OPTIONAL: Instead of manually deleting all of your homebrew, you could just format your HDD instead to be safe.

Step 3.

Get 3.55 OFW here:http://www.ps3hax.net/downloads.php?do=file&id=557

Download 3.55 OFW and put it on your flash drive (X:/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP)

and update to 3.55 OFW via Recovery Menu.

How to get the Recovery Menu on your PS3 - YouTube

Step 4.

Update to 4.11 OFW via System Update and enjoy PSN.

If you are afraid that your PS3 will brick then don't even do it.

How are the rest of my steps wrong? They might be different but they aren't wrong.

And yes it is common knowledge so why did you ask what format to format it in... The PS3 doesn't give you a choice....

Yes format it then install OFW.

@Annelies another helpful hint, make sure to backup your HDD before formatting so no data loss is there, aka game saves etc.
