I have a fat ps3 with samsung nor, it has RSOD, I've bought an E3 flasher to fix it. I've installed it, i have ps3jig and everything but i can't make a backup bios. Please help me. Because of the rsod, i don't have xmb. Could this be the problem? Any other way to make backup?

If you are getting errors trying to make a backup, most likely the clip is not connected securely. The rsod will not cause a problem.

I have downgraded a rsod ps3 with e3 flasher before.

Thanks. I've made a backup successfully. What's next? Flashed e3_downgrade.bin to nor but still RSOD. Maybe someone could take a look at my backup.

Edit: I've tried "2.2. Flash Backup patch with the PS3 NOR Patcher" but unfortunately the patcher app freezes after loading bkpps3.bin. I've loaded bkpps3.swap.bin, but after "dump successfully unreversed" and "ready for patching!" message i press "patch nor dump file" and again the app freezes.

I've managed to make a patched NOR, followed "E3 Flasher Downgrade on different PS3" tutorial, but still RSOD. I've tried to fix it also with the RSOD lv2diag.self, but no luck, RSOD.

Any suggestions?

Tried to update to 3.55 ofw, now turns on and turns off with blinking red light. Is it possible to repair this or bricked?

You need to follow the unbrick guide.

I tried the RSODfix.self and it didn't work for me either. I used the old RSOD fix, that ps3devwiki says don't use.

There is a notheros.pup file you install from recovery. (while on 3.55)

Then your ps3 will boot to xmb. And there is a pkg you install and run.

I dont know why ps3devwiki says don't use it anymore? It is the only way that works for me. I have done it on a few ps3s.

BTW, after you downgrade to no check CFW, you can not install any CFW or OFW without first resetting the syscon hash check. By either a qa flag downgrade or reFSM.

Can I use the E3 flasher to fix it. Each time I update 4.11 it reaches 50% and goes straight to 100%.

From the E3 unbrick procedure it say I need backup Bios and solder to the E3 clip. Then set the switch to "fllash fun". If I obtain a backup bios from the ps3 would it have the same rsod issue? CAn I proceed with the downgrade procedure to fix it?

What I do to fix RSOD on 4.11.

1. Follow my guide below. Where it says go to xmb, go to the red screen.
2. After you downgrade to Rogero, you will still boot to red screen.
3. Install notheros.pup from recovery menu.
4. Ps3 then boots to xmb. Install the rsodfix.pkg.
5. I then continue my guide with qa flag. Dont think it matters but I qa flag downgrade to the minimum OFW the ps3 can go to.
6. Then update from xmb to OFW 3.55.
7. Then install any CFW from recovery menu.

I have fixed a few RSOD ps3s like this. When the rsodfix.self would say it completed successfully, but I still had red screen.

BTW - When installing firmware its normal for the 2nd half to go very fast.

Awesome. seems to boot up with the notheros.pup, and update OFW 3.55, the rsod is gone.

I might give cfw rogero 3.1 a go, hopefully the fixs will work with it.

E3 flasher is a great tool.
