after doing the qa flag part, do I need to install an OFW first and then install a CFW or can I directly go to a CFW from recovery?

Its recommended to install a OFW before Cfw, anytime. If you read all the jailbreak guides they say to install OFW 3.55 before CFW.

I haven't tried but I think you can skip going to 3.41, and just install ofw3.55 after qa flag.

Thanks for that ..just another small question ..I want to play games from my HDD ..so after I am on a CFW (which one do you recomend) I install Multiman , right?

Multiman is by far the best manager. Not only is it a game manager, but it is a media player, file manager, and a bunch of other stuff I haven't used yet.
You also have to install bdemu2.pkg for Multiman to work.

As for CFW Kmeaw is basic and works great. I've had my slim on it since I got it, over a year ago.

Rebug works good too. It has more debugging options and the xmb looks a little different, like the PSN icon is red. I like how when you boot the ps3 it shows REBUG, instead of PS3.

No it is not. That is the point of this guide. To be able to install any OFW or CFW you like. Without the worry of bricking your console due to those stupid syscon hash checks.

That being said don't install rebug until the last step of this guide.
After installing Rebug 3.55.2 there is a update pkg for it too. Just install the Rebug 3.55.2 update package and run from the xmb.

Yeah. That is it.

Rogero works fine too. It is actually a Kmeaw based CFW, but without the checks and a 4.11 spoof.

But if you ever want to change to another CFW, you have to reset the syscon hash checks, or u will brick.

As you know you need to use a no check firmware to downgrade from anything higher than 3.55.

The no check is to skip the syscon hash check.

So to install any other firmware, you need to dehash the check.

There are a couple ways to do this. My guide is only one way. Take a look here on dehashing.
