Hi,

I'm currently downgrading my PS3 CECH-2503A using the E3 Flasher. I've followed the tutorials and managed to get to the screen where it asks to plug in the controller. I've tried entering factory service mode with my PSP and also a PS Jailbreak dongle, but the PS3 won't shut off automatically at all. Any ideas?

try to upgrade the e3 flasher version to older version.. work for me...

Well I've tried using 2011.10.14, 2011.10.28 & 2011.11.22 upgrade but to no avail. Still stuck at the screen where it asks to plug in controller.

I suspect that both my PSP and PS Jailbreak dongle are not working properly.

u sure u got the downgrade files on psp or ps dongle ? and not the jailbreak files cos the jailbreak files wont get u in service mode

I've tried doing the hex installation on the PS Jailbreak dongle, but I think it's busted cuz only the green light is on when I plug it into the PS3 or PC.

What kind of downgrade files do I need for the PSP? I'm only using the PS3Jig. I thought that is sufficient for just entering factory service mode.

Ps3Jig is sufficient, if your PSP is on firmware 5.50.

I use my PSP on 5.50 gen d to enter FSM.

Make sure you have it plugged into the farthest right port. And you are hitting power then eject.

You probably already knew that. But thought I would share in case you didn't.

I have seen a lot of users having the same problem. But I can't tell if its user error or not. I have downgraded almost 30 ps3s, and have not come across this problem once yet.

Regarding the PSP, I'm using a PSP3000 with ChickHEN R2. Normally when I use it to play games and all, I have to flash it first with the ChickHEN, which will put it to 5.03 Chickhen R2. Then open the CFW Enabler that will put it to 5.03-Prome to be able to play games. However for the PS3Jig, I can only start it at ChickHen firmware and not the CFW that I normally use to play games.

Will upgrading it to 5.50 GEN-D make a difference on the PS3Jig?

It might. I know when I tried it on 6.20 pro b, it would open and look like it would work, but I would never see the code come up on the psp screen.

After you press power then eject and wait, do u see the communication between the ps3 and the psp on the screen?
