[Masked Lemon]

Hello everyone. I recently soft modded my Wii and am enjoying the usb loader on that to play backed up games and whatnot. I was interested in soft modding my PS3 to do the same things, and my searches lead me to this forum.

I am from San Rafael, Ca, but am living in Pittsburgh, PA now. My friends call me Lemon and I'm glad to be on a forum that seems to be pretty helpful to newcomers to the modding scene.

I have a PS3 Slim running 4.10 firmware, Model number is CECH-2001 A. I've looked in the tutorials but it seems everything is for the 3.55 firmware. What I am looking for is tutorials and downloads to get my PS3 to be able to play backed up games via the PS3 HDD if that is possible, or an external HDD if that is my only option. Any help I recieve is greatly appreciated.

You can't soft mod it.

3.55 and lower can be soft modded, above 3.55 is a hardware downgrade with a flasher (and only if the PS3 was on 3.55 once) ...

So basically there's no way to do any of this stuff on a 4.10 without soldering the PS3? This is my only ps#, and I have never done any soldering so I don't think that is a good option.

Nope, even with E3 flasher you have to know some basics on soldering. But if you want to risk it, worth the try if not you can learn how to do it.
You can ask, and we have very good tutorials/resources for you and everyone who wants to enter the *learn zone*.

I might attempt it if I had the means to replace the system if I messed up, but I'm currently unemployed. I don't trust myself to do it properly.

Are there at least people working on a way to do this on higher firmwares via soft modding?

Sad to read that, everything will be ok Yo! have trust on yourself you can try, as i said many tutorials and videos too.

Regarding the softmod solution = Well it's too much to talk on member introduction section, but for the moment we don't know. Since are so many fakes going around.

I'm sure, but you'll play the waiting game. Just think about it, were on firmware 4.11 now, and last hack was for 3.55. If you can't wait then go for it, otherwise just sit back and be patient like the rest of us non devs
