Is there a point in staying at 4.00?
I haven't touched my PS3 for a very long time (mainly due to waiting for a 4.xx CFW) and it's still on 4.00. I feell like playing some GT5 online a bit though. Is it safe to upgrade to 4.11 considering I do want to be able to install a CFW once it's finally out?

Welcome and No CFW in the horizon, so the best you can do it's to play online GT5 if you want to.

You have 3 options:
1a) Downgrade your console to 3.55 if you can and run cfw - but you wont be able to play online 1b) As a) but then also buy TB dongle to play some new games - still offline of course 2) Upgrade to latest firmware and play your new legally purchased games online and wait for cfw4.11 IF it ever gets hacked. 3) Stay on 4.00 and do nothing - but there is no point to this Just a note those, but most likely even if 4.11 is hacked, you will only be able to play online for a short while before $ony figures out how to detect modified consoles and ban them. OR change the PSN keys to block cfw depending on how the system may get hacked. We've all waited so long and got absolutely nothing in reply regarding a new cfw. A couple people have showed up, but have been proven to be fake or got fed up with the BS of kids demanding they complete the work or criticism. So my advice either update if you want PSN, or downgrade if you want homebrew. And if you like an*l by a TB dongle.

There is no point in staying on any firmware above 3.56. Once one is cracked, they are all cracked. Go enjoy PSN.
