Firstly I must commend the forum staff on how WOW this forum is. I found this forum a few days ago and read through many threads posted here. Very informative I must say compared to the other crap that took hours of my time researching to find out people were talking out their anus. Not to mention nearly bricking my machine in the process. At least here, people speak the truth on what can and cannot be done.

While on the topic of the A word, I do feel like one. I finally got a home connection and the first thing I did was update my PS3 from 3.55 to 4.11 to access PSN (Stupid stupid stupid idiot!!!). Now this means my machine needs to be opened to remove this ridiculous update I installed. Yeah and I'm still kicking myself about that, but no need to cry over it I guess. It's easier for me just to go and purchase a new machine than sit with a struggle on electronics I have no clue about. My idea of a soldering iron is to use it for a quick game of sword fighting with a friend.

But I do have a few questions that range from a number of topics (And yes, I did read through the threads, some are very vague or I fail to understand some of the stuff due to the terminology used). However, I would appreciate any answers that are posted for me. I registered last night so I could make use of the search functionality here.

There is NO CFW for 4.11, I know this but my question would be, in the future is it possible for something like this to become available? Not concerned about when but the possibility of such a CFW. Well actually anything passed 3.55 out of interest sake. I bet you get asked this a lot :P

Ok for the questions that this thread was intended for, I noticed that there is no section for save game discussions. After some searching I did find a few things about it. I had the bright idea, after struggling with RE5: GE costumes, it would be easier to hold of the save file. But now certain saved files are protected to a player's console and player ID, specifically the param files. I gathered from what I read, you can only unlock the file if you are on the custom firmware, a file manager or FTP can sort a needing player out pretty quickly and effortlessly. That annoys me. I was so passionate when I started researching the whole process of this but that soon died. So, is there any specific way a player can provide another player with these files to be converted? Meaning I provide my file with the save file I would like to use and a player with all the necessary software could do the conversions and what's all needed? They send it back to me, it works and I'm forever in their debt? Forgive my madness if this is not possible.

I have another 70 odd original PS3 games here, is there perhaps a place on the forum where I would be able to download and use save games that are not protected? Tekken 6 or Mortal Kombat maybe?

And finally, we all know by now I cannot get the 3.55 CFW, is there anything I can customise or change on my PS3 so I look cooler than my friends?

Sony is a respectable company, I realise they have all these features in place so that people cannot render their work effortless and lose money. But after what I've seen a PS3 capable of, it's amazing why they block such features to be used. Concerns of having people make a product of theirs run better than what they could is not a viable reason when they can actually do this themselves. While I feel the need to take TIPEX and scribble all the profanities I know all over this black box, it would bring some comfort if there is a possibility I could do more with this machine than play games, watch movies and listening to music. I have a surround sound for those particular reasons already.

All answers, thoughts, whining and even negative comments are welcome.

Apologies for the double post.

I have read quite a few threads today and found that there is some sort of a feud between some developers or something being leaked and this is the reason why we have not seen any further CFW after 3.55?

@Da Twista Welcome first to the board I can relate with your anger but you can choose E3 flasher for example you have such good tutorials here and even videos that shows how it's done the process of installing. etc.

Regarding the saves, it's complex but i will come back to you as soon i found something that it's valuable to you.

Well on the CFW, there is no such thing. All you see is fake. Just click in My signature and i gave there a good explication on that topic.
No softmod on the way, but if something comes up you will see it all over the site.

I know there is no such thing as a 4.11 CFW, my question is in the future could we possibly see 4.11 being able to have a CFW. My concern is that it seems everyone here or some have thrown in the towel and really isn't interested in community based projects like those that were previously run.

An indication as such is 3.55 was released some time ago yet we do not hear any further development on any CFW. Now I'm not trying to be a nagging housewife here, I'm just interested in the inner workings of creating CFW and if there is any possibility that one day we will see it. Like I said I don't care when, I'm patient to wait for anything.

Everything I basically found on the forum needs custom firmware which is rather annoying that I cannot do any customizations at all. It's kinda sad that a person is so restricted when here I want to spread my wings!

The thing is some much information related a *CFW 4.00/4.11* or *Jailbreak* on every video of youtube and some blogs that confuses the users.

Nobody thrown in the towel, the issues it's to know who is a real contender and what it's a fake/troll.
Being honest the only way to use the resources on the site, it's to downgrade.
Think that the big *experience* started and still is with 3.55 the hackeable OFW and all that.
Hence we don't have they keys we can't do nothing (the ones who are stuck in certain firm above 3.55).

They being researching and documenting everything about PS3.
So if you want to read/learn meanwhile to understand a little more i will go that way.

I can't assure anyone if a solution will come up, but if it come ups will be posted.
