JungleFlasher Help!

I have an already once flashed 360. It's outdated and won't play newer backups. I tried to flash it again but JungleFlasher won't recognize my BenQ drive on my computer. I'm using an Xbox to power it and it's hooked up via sata. I've spent about the last 8 hours pouring over threads including the JungleFlasher tut and can't find anything that's helped. I'm hoping somebody here has experienced this and can tell me a fix that doesn't include buying a new pci sata card that I will only use once. Thank you.

I am not a fan of JungleFlasher. I have had much more success with DOSFlash

DOSflash just gives me the "No ATAPI devices present". Although, it's showing up in my BIOS menu. Looks like my only option is to buy the Sata PCI card. So frustrating!

In that case it sounds as though you have a chipset that doesn't play nice, so a VIA card may be your only option. Also BIOS settings will play a role. If you have your SATA controller set to anything other than IDE mode, and if you have IDE combined mode enabled (not sure what type of system you are working with) then it will fail. It took me months to figure out why it wasnt working on my system. Also which sata ports you are using will make a difference. For whatever reason JF will only see my primary channel. Also if you are on a 64 bit windows, keep in mind that you will have to fake sign portio64.sys and boot into test mode so that the required driver will run. If you have a raid setup, then that will also stop it from working. If you post your system specs, maybe I could help you out a little more.

Well you have an intel chipset and I have ran into few issues using intel chipsets. What kind of drive do you have? Also this may sound like a stupid question, but you do have power to the drive correct?

You dont have a need to fake sign the driver since you are on 32 bit windows. Power on your drive with the sata cable plugged into your PC, then start your program. Also make sure that the SATA ports you are trying to use are not turned off in the BIOS. Another note, as I said before Jungle Flasher can be picky about which SATA ports it can use. I have 6 SATA ports, but I can only use 2 of them to flash drives.

http://team-xecuter.com/forums/archi...p/t-52354.html

That is an older list, but as you can see from that list Intel is pretty solid when it comes to JF.

If you cant figure it out, you have 3 choices.
1.) Take it to a friend's house and try.
2.)Purchase a VIA card.
3.)Send it to a modder.

I would be happy to do it for you if needed, all I ask is you cover shipping to and from (that is if you are in the US) but that wouldnt help you if you needed to flash an update to it. I haven't seen an update since Christmas, and unless MS comes up with a new type of security, then I doubt there will be anymore updates.

In your DOSflash folder you will also need a copy of portio32.sys. It can be found in the Jungle Flasher folder. Copy/paste that file into the same folder as Jungle Flasher. If that file is missing, you will get the error like you stated above.

Edit: Sorry, I just had a look at your first post, and I noticed you had a BENQ. These drives are somewhat temperamental. Let me know how you are doing with this, so I can try and help you out a little more. I am usually available in the Hax IRC. There is a link in my sig on how to access it, that way I can provide somewhat "live" help

Thanks for all the help and advice. Option 1 ended up being the best route. Just an overall bad chipset. Took it to a friends computer and had it done in about 5 minutes. Everything is awesome now

A PCI VIA card is cheaper than a 360USB.
