Help. E3 flasher won't make a dump. - PS3Hax Network

Hi there,
I bought and installed E3 flasher to my slim PS3. The idea was to downgrade it to 3.55 and install 3.55 CFW. The problem occurred in the second step, I couldn't make backup file. The TF card had update.bin on it when I put it in, when it came out thare was just a log file stating that: not original PS3.
PS3 is on OFW 4.11, I was suspicious there was something wrong with the former updates, so I downloaded new one from SONY, just in case I had some bad FW.
I tried dismantling it again, cleaned contacts with alcohol, taping the clip to the chip (Mex.. somethin like that) and more or less anything that I found on the subject that made sense.
What I did was:
- put the update.bin on root of TF card with 1 and 2 switches down
- the blue LEDs lit up
- 3rd switch up, rest of them down, reset, start
and instead of LEDs turning on one by one, only No 1,2 and 6 started blinking.
On TF card there was a log file, starting backup|not original PS3

The E3 is new, this is the first PS3 it's been in, as far as I know.

Any ideas? Please.

What model is your PS3 @AlonzoM ?

It's CECH, slim with 320GB HDD. It's like new, I have not tried any hacks, downgrades or anything until now.

It's CECH2504B, used to be on OFW 3.40 when i bought it.

Solve this problem by inserting e3 flasher clip correctly and put strong tape. It's something wrong with the clip.

I don't think that is the problem, I already opened it and fitted clip 3 times, every time I fixed it with the best tape I could find, at the moment it even has a piece of hard sponge keeping it in place. Is there anything else that I might try?

with a coin you can try (Cooper).

yeah. keep trying to get the clip on securely. I have had to take some apart like 20 times.

Now that I have done almost 30, I get it on the first try.

Make sure the clip is flush with the motherboard and tape down with STRONG tape. If you use a coin on top to give a permanent press, don't use copper.
