PSP 3000 6.20 TO 6.60?

I have a PSP 3000 which is on firmware 6.20 and it is permantely flashed so It does not require me to run fast recovery. I want to update to firmware 6.60 but since it is permentely flashed can I not upgrade since I always get the servers are down when I try to update through wi-fi? Or can I just download the 6.60 download file for PSP 3000 and update manually with no problems?

You will be losing permanent flash when upgrading to 6.60 and would have to use fast recovery every time you do a hard reset, I advise you not to upgrade and stick with what you have as that is the best option for you. But regarding updating you would first need to remove the CFW and then boot into OFW and then upgrade to 6.60 OFW and use either PRO or ME's CFW in order to use CFW. However, like I said earlier you would lose the ability to have a permanent flash as your console does not support permanent flashing past 6.20 CFW.

How do I remove the CFW so that I can update?

The same process you did when installing the CFW. Use the PRO installer and press the uninstall button, and then go from there.
