omg yo ALOT of people are having this problem ???!! y, god dam... i am also one of those people... ik for a fact i installed it perfectly, everything click, i cleaned it with a small amount of alchol, used the penny thing... idk what im doing wrong, this **** wont back up, i keep getting this code

"start logging...
backup PS3 BIOS.
fail to initialize PS3 BIOS."

i do have a samsung nor on a model cech2001b

any ideas

the idea is to exchange your model by a spansion nor lol!!! I´m facing the same situation here.

Like munchy said, sand the clip.

After sanding off a little plastic from the clip, on the side where the transistor is in the way on the motherboard, I have been able to install my flasher on every ps3 I have tried since, FIRST TRY!!!

EDIT - I don't use any coins or foam either. Just press firmly and tape down with strong tape.

can you make a video on how you do it like pretty plz, this would help ALOT of people greatly!!!!

Hi, im having the same problem too. I managed to put 2 pieces of hard foam on the clip on the NOR chip, when i screw the mobo down, its seems really tight.
Could it be the clip on the e3 flasher?
Or could it be the softboard touching metal parts?

Please advice!

Here are a couple pics of my clip. There is a groove on the side, I scraped some plastic off with a small screwdriver.

After modifying the clip like above. Tape the clip down like below:

Here are some pics of how I tape the clip down. After taping the clip down I use the back of my screwdriver on the center of the clip. And put the opposite side of the motherboard on my knee and press the clip down firmly. Creasing the tape down around the clip at the same time.
And I put the motherboard back in the metal casing.

Some phat nor models, I have done, were hard to get the clip flush to the mobo.

Ever since I shaved a little plastic off the clip, every PS3 I have done (phat or slim) have been very easy. I haven't even seen that error code once since.

And you can tell by looking at the pics of my clip, that it has been in and out of many consoles.
