Nope i filed the side with the resistor.
For i am using CECHH phat NOR - RIGHT side of the clip with the softboard trailing towards you.
For the foam hmmm any LCD hard foam, its like a sponge but abit harder, i dont have a cam right now, however recommendation was 1/4in , i used 1in plus.

Anyway, you can be sure it is the NOR chip connection problem as explained by playerkp420

After sanding off a little plastic from the clip, on the side where the transistor is in the way on the motherboard, I have been able to install my flasher on every ps3 I have tried since, FIRST TRY!!!

EDIT - I don't use any coins or foam either. Just press firmly and tape down with strong tape.
I tried and still trying this ps3 with nor sammy.

After that I did 4 ps3 with nor spansion using the same nor clip...

To be 110% sure i did it again on this ps3 with nor sammy without any success.

How do you explain that??? I really appreciate your efforts here.. but this is something different

We are seeing a lot of people facing the same issue, this is not a nor clip problem.. this a compatibility issue.. regarding e3 flasher with nor sammy

Just to remember, I´m talking about error 10001100 (couldn't initialize ps3 bios)

I have downgraded a lot of ps3s. All different nor versions. I can guarantee the e3 flasher does not have a compatibility issue, with Samsung nor chips.

I have downgraded 6 of cech-2001 ps3s. The ones I kept getting this error was because the clip was not seated good enough.

One of them I took apart (literally) 25 times. I just kept getting more frustrated. So I did to my clip what you see above, and used blue duct tape to hold it down.

Now I have done everyone since, without error. FIRST TRY!!!!

Take a look here.

If you get that error your clip is not on good enough, bottom line.

this error is "bad clip" nothing else..i'm afraid, and yes it looks, feels like its clipped OK but it's not all the way atleast

best thing is file both sides of clip like explained by playerkp420, then e3clip works 110% on every console, including sammy's

best tape is transparant tape, while putting it over clip, keep pressing it good and fold the tape with ur nail against the sides so it sticks real tight

temporaly using a couple, those pads u put under chairs, small ones, with phat use 3 pads cuse there's alot of space, folding the cable and reassambling can and wil liftup the e3clip, tape it down at clip and hdd slot so it stay steady when putting back together
