No softmod solution, the only way it's open up your PS3 and solder.
With E3 you have tons of useful guides that even in the site shows you how to dissamble all your system.

I thought as much, thanks. I came across a very good step by step tutorial on here so I might just bute the bullet and do it myself.

Is E3 flasher by best option?

He doesn't need to solder if he has a slim model

but there are no softmod ways...you need hardware to downgrade

Not sure what you mean? Those model/mobo #s you posted are nand chip models.

The pics you showed are CECHK01. Which is a nor chip model with DIA-001 motherboard.

You can downgrade with e3 flasher limited or downgrader version.
