To make this more simple.

Xbox360: DVD
PS3: Blu-ray

What you use to do your backups 3/4 years ago? blu-rays? don't think so.
dvds or cds.
blu-ray drives are not cheap, and how much costs today a dvd drive for the pc?. Make some maths.

$ony screwed up with his new tech the blu-rays, Microsoft instead uses DVD something that anyone can afford more easy than a br.
But guess what? the future is the direct to drive tech, no more cds/dvd/br. Most of you are already using it.

But has jtag anything to do with the drives in the console ? I thought it was soldering wires on the motjerboard to be able to do stuff you normally cant do...
But flashing on the other way is the drive in the console( my xbox had it )..

infront the impossibility to hack new firmwares & getting new 3.6+ CFW, hacking the BluRay drive's firmware could be the best solution ! It could work even on OFW 4.++

I knew it's not so easy but technically why ?

The simple answer here is: the PS3s blu-ray drive is a lot more secure than an Xbox 360 dvd drive.
