Yes I have. you have to do it twice in a row, without exiting FSM.

I didn't make a video of it.

Like I said I tried it once to confirm and it worked. I always use qa way.

qa is cheating. once enabled it stays active and gives you the productmode or the like. you can even install debug firmware with qa in factory service mode and it does not brick.

if you install 3.55 ofw in fsm it will not be successful, and that i am sure of. it will end with flashing red light, but the ps3 does not turn off because of the bluray issue.

one thing what works, is if you install ofw directly after fsm in recovery, you can flash it without issue in fsm afterwards.

but this all works only with active flag. as soon as you disable it and install ofw the ps3 bricks. i have made extra tests on this

Is that why you cannot get it to work? you don't have a bluray drive connected? you need a working logic board to install OFW.

I don't get what you mean qa is cheating. It works to install OFW 3.55 from recovery menu, when OFW is installed it dehashes. Which allows you to install any CFW. Then you can toggle qa off.

the bd drives are fine on my ps3s

it is a fact, that you cannot flash a 3.55 ofw in factory service mode because of the bluray firmware. it won't let you finish the flash process successfully. except the special debug downgrade pup. the ps3 will let you install it without bluray issue in fsm.
and i have tried to flash 3.55ofw several times in factory service mode. only after installing 3.55ofw from recovery and then again fsm, i was able to flash it successfully in fsm

we all flash either a NOBD update rogero pup (or any lv1 patched pup with removed bd update) with the 365kb self, or we use jaicrabs lv2diag which lets you use a normal rogero pup, but skips itself the bd update process.

have you toggled qa off and installed ofw afterwards?

i only want a proof of a downgraded/"rehashed" ps3, without any (active) flag or patches installing ofw...but i think there never will be any proof

You're on 4.11 SPOOF, so just install condorstrike's pkg to enter service mode directly from your xmb. Make sure the OFW 3.55 is in there.

I'll mess around with one of my ps3s later. I agree we need more testing with this stuff. So the ps3devwiki is correct and easy for users to understand.

Dehashing with fsm works fine, I just did one last week without any problem. Follow the steps, do the double ofw install in fsm, resets the syscon.

1.what ps3 model it is?
2.you have done a dump/backup of NOR?
3.you are using E3?

the ps3 is bricked now and with a good Nor dump it can be unbricked(if its not a newer PS3 3000 model.
