I think any info on the PS3 firmware should be released just for the simple fact that, there are enough people working on it and if everyone shares they might be able to put all the pieces together.
Sony will come out with new update, thats going to happen regardless, this would allow anyone with a 4.11 or lower to control there system again because 3.55's are getting harder to find and I like the ability to make something then test it on my 3.55

The truth is there is no need for a MFW that is not going to be finished. If you want to hack your ps3 there are still ways to do it.

New ps3s below 3.55 are getting scarce. But by the time any new CFW, MFW, HEN, or whatever (if at all anything), the PS4 will be out and we will all have a new machine to try and crack open.

@playerkp420 kakarotoks never said he was not going to finish it he just said that he has a lot of life to carry on with so has little to no time to work on the ps3 if I am correct.

Hopefully people will pick up from where he left off and maybe there will be a new CFW somewhere in the future but as for the most of it 3.55 is still a great leap forward and is allowing people to experience there ps3 the way they want obviously new games need fixes etc or for the tb users but things happen for it so it's all good.

yeah but were still stuck with dongles to play new games, updates and dlc's are very limited. I will not be buying a PS4 or any sony merchandise again. I am just about to sell my 3 PS3's and go XBOX, so sick of the top secret crap with everyone, this tool or that tool or keys. I am about ready to say Fu(k it and after 2 years of modding PS3's just give up on it. The scene is dieng and if someone can't bring some life back into it it will be dead. I tried and gave a Black ops bypass then got hated on for it so I am done.

if the ps4 was released in 2012 i would be amazed. i wouldn't expect it to be released until 2015 or 2017 but this is in comparison with the PS2. im not surprised 3.55 are rare, noobs update them until they discover they can't go back without paying $80. i admit it, i was a noob and got 1 ps3 that's now stuck at 4.11. but i honestly think the ps3 can last more than just 5 or 6 years, even if this CMF is released or not.

The new Xbox is allegedly due at the end of 2013, there is no way Sony will release their next console as late as 2015, and 2017? Well that's just laughable.

Kakarotoks: Yes, it is already in the hands of a few devs that I trust and while I have been busy for the past 2 months, they have continued their work on getting code execution working (and they made incredible advances since I left). I am hoping to see them unlocking the missing piece in the coming months, and hopefully by then, I'll be free again to help them and continue working with them
