Problem with mac g4 (format)
Well i got this mac, from a friend. And sadly the dvd drive don't work all i want to do is to format his damn thing. And since i have no other Mac or a friend with a Mac things get complicated.
What can i do? Since USB will not do a thing. (Because the PPC) The only one thing i want to do is format this damn thing, since the OS is totally corrupted. It's on 10.4 tiger currently. Regards

Without a disc drive or working USB then you might need to remove the HDD and format it using another PC

Also a tool I used to use for PS3 drives called swissknife would also probably do the trick

that's another problem. It's driving me crazy all this, it's a friends Mac.
Since the dvd drive is ****ed, and cannot install from USB i don't know. I will try some net-install but first i have to format.

Which G4 is it? You might be able to install from a FW disk, or by installing a PCI USB card.
