for Tristate/GND on the MB or Tristate to E3 SBE, u can use a fatter cable like22,24,26AWG, its all good and works fine

Ur DUMP is OK, if it aint booting nomore, u must solder and flash the dump in flashfun, then ur console should be fixed
sooo list everything i need to solder and what location i need to solder to and on... and what is TRISTATE and solderpad or SBE cause i a newbie at this mate

btw guys i have my ps3 4.11 bios backup and was bricked on installing cobra 3.55 ??? does that mean anything ?

Thumbs up c'mon

bro be real, it's all there, this, one cannot explain really

first,

check the wiki for the "correct" Tristate point and your motherboard version

http://www.ps3devwiki.com/index.php?...g_Guide.28s.29

scroll a little ^ and u can check the correct point(Tristate) to solder the wire on. it differents for ps3 models, please check the info in the link above and read, don't understand, no problem re-read it i was in the same boat bro it's easy...get the right tools in your local shop etc.. the tools i posted are good, on the wiki for example those are other solder irons, i couldn't found the second one arround here, ended up buying a Weller 12W, it's good enough 26€

so, get the tools needed

also, check YOUTUBE tutorials :beer:

all credits to the makers , helped out alot for me

first two vid's is enough really, but in that example he uses flux, the 60/40 print i showed u in the picture already have this(cored wire, flux inside), it depends on the solderwire, but i'm not good for explaining this really hehehe, again pls check wiki's goooood stuff

anyway,
practice on old stuff(like in example/youtube)

* heat up iron
* strip wire(10 a 18 CM) , tin both sides, cut the tin'd piece if to long
* dip the iron in the "tippy" if u have it, not required tho!
(it cleans&tins the iron-point nicely, lso if u tough the motherboard this wil prevent to much heat to prevent damage, all in all it takes a second..for real, do not tough for to long ofcourse

* put the wire on top of the solder dot, that it makes good contact, gently press on top of it with the solder iron

this stuff u cannot explain really, youtube FTW, u must do this on ur own to get the feeling

take ur time..prepare urself mentally , leave it for a couple days, prepare tools etc..

lol at the guy, sry can't help it, binnenpretje..

goodluck

goodluck
soo let me get this straight... when i solder i must

-put solder on the wire (tin)
-put solder on the burning thing (tin)
-put solder on the cirlce point thats on the motherboard and e3 ribbon cabble (tin)
- get wire and iron and put the wire on the mother board thing and put the iron on it
- then from the motherboard put it on the e3 flasher ribbon and put the iron on it and melt it on to it

then im done ?!?!

@stefelz

After you get that wire soldered and your ps3 will stay on. Since you bricked on 3.55 and only have a backup of 4.11, it is not as easy to just flash it back.

You will have to flash your backup, then follow the downgrade procedure. Like in this guide.

Then after you are unbricked and downgraded, do not just install any cfw you like. You will need to use one of the dehashing ways.

Note - Take your time with the soldering. It is not that hard, just be confident and have a steady hand. Make sure you do not burn through the ribbon cable. The iron will get very hot. You barely have to touch the solder to make it melt.

Good Luck.

Thumbs up yo

@stefelz :

the DYN-001 pinout is also on the wiki -- check it>>
http://www.ps3devwiki.com/images/8/84/DYN-001_NOR.JPG

i marked the Tristate point, its the same anyway..

ps: best to use SBE point on the backside of e3, its safer to solder, or use a ground point but the gnd point must be disconnected after "flashfun" or it stay ON, using the SBE e3 point u can leave it(wire) and switch with POWER OFF the flashfun to ps3 mode on E3

hope its clear enough and goodluck!

Thumbs up

i have to inform, on my end never had to fix like this, always make backups of ur firmwares just in case, u on the right track and it should work nice and dandy afterall
if Pro.Hack's way not worked, the mods would close it?!
only his dump( i have it here) is not there anymore, but people like euss claims it can't work with his dump.

about the wire..lol u for real or joking heh...
inspect the wire just incase, no cuts,knicked? wire it should be alright! i think its common sense, doubt..grab another wire ...22AWG is OK for Tristate, i used 24AWG, its OK and after tin the wire, cutoff the end a little, it's to long, fireup iron and fix the s*cker

Keep wires short, up to ~20cm max (longer gives errors). The shorter the better : 15cm and shorter mostly works fine with AWG26 on NOR.

For NOR wiring the solderarea (the NORpoints) is 10x larger than the solderarea used with NAND (pitch 0.5mm, just as NOR chips btw), so for NOR you have much more headroom (and also need!) to use thicker wires (for NAND you most likely want to use 28 AWG and cannot use much thicker)
