You know, with clowns like KaKaRoTo around making news, that "just miss one thing" (it was bloody obvious from starts that idea was idiotic) and afterwards learning how encryption works (with idiotic hopes to "hack" what is a purely mathematical problem) badmouthing geohot looks... erm, strange.

Let me remind you how CRUCIAL his role was in the whole PS3 hacking soap opera:
1) He dumped LV1 and exposed what used to be a a black box. THIS made jailbreak possible.
2) He found a way to exploit metloader THAT MADE CFW POSSIBLE, it took others ABOUT A YEAR to figure how, maybe, he had done it.

fail0verflow deserves tons of credit, no doubt, without them, CFW wouldn't be possible and system wouldn't be cracked wide open. (I'd preferred if they didn't reveal how they've compromised the system, in a hope that Sony wouldn't figure it out and fix the "epic.fail")

Its been a longtime since I posted on forums, but I felt that I should comment on this. I been following the scene for very long time and regardless how you feel about someone alot of the scene are hipacrites. Dont bad mouth Math but its ok to bad moth Geohot ? WTF !! I dont get you guys at all the major difference here is that Geohot regardless of his ego shared his information with the scene and started a huge rumble and alot of scene was buzzing and we had alot of new CFW to play with. How can anyone say he hurt the scene ? Going toe to toe with Sony thats balls and guts. I would have an ego too. Now here is the difference with Math though granted we all know he is talented but he sends the scene on wild goose chases and wind up with no solid leads.So you guys say screw Geohot ? I say screw you ! Is the scene so dead that you have to blame someone for the failure of progression ? Dont balme him for anything but blame yourself. Regardless how you feel about him personally all this is going to do is start a rift with the community.

Check my post in this thread and you will see I have not once criticised his abilities, just the Fact that he caused A Lot of harm to the scene by his actions.

Oh that and the Fact that what he did (legal wise) on the iPhone has been blown up out of any Earthly proportions (I have quoted the amended section more than once in these forums)

I may be wrong a lot of the time, but I actually do try to gather all the info before I question a person(s) actions....... Can you say the same after you just told a lot of people to screw themselves?

I would call you stupid, but i don't want to insult you, so i will use the word naive instead, GeoHot did NOT take on Sony, his lawyers did, whilst GeoHot used part of those donation to have a nice holiday in Argentina and after that holiday, he bent over for Sony and gave them all the secrets.

Meh...There's probably a handful of people in the entire world that has contributed to the scene. Like it or not Geohot is one of them. His contribution far outweighs a lot of others. Besides Graf nobody else has faced the type of persecution Geohot has either. And he gets it from both sides. Legally his hands are tied so there is nothing more to expect from him. Therein lies the problem, if he can't do anything or GIVE anything to everybody than they hate him for it. I'm not really sure what else is expected of him.
