You should not let you're hatred of GeoHot cloud your better judgment. I am not disagreeing in that he haven't been egotistical not only in the PS3 scene, but more in the iOS scene especially iOS 4.1 jailbreak. But he has contributed to the scene, even though it might have been on the basis of others work. Contribution is the key and he has shared his finding with the community, which is the key aspect in open source development.

I don't see open source on that. Open source is when a community help each other and try with some discretion to mantain and share the findings with the whole entity not only certain sectors of it.
Open source is linux (for example) and i don't see people fighting about who found what and why X user or users don't share.

I never said that he was the prime example of an individual contributing to open source developement. However, he did contribute a lot to the PS3 Scene and iOS scene in his own manner and thereby contributing to the open source developement scene by his findings.

@Calliope i never said that he is the worst example of *sharing* still, if you can justify that he done his homework well contributing fine by me.

Using that line of tought or criteria everything is valid, (foul play, etc) when you contribute to the scene.

im christian and was baptised but i dont belive in jesus anymore . but when i did there was some stuff i didnt do which i should off eg some sundays i should fast but i never did , i love my sunday dinner too much to fast ,even thought it was one sunday a month i still never did , just cos i did that dint mean i wasnt Christian then
