Guys a while ago I bricked a CECHL03 console but of course I had the backup bios.
I got the tech guy at work to solder me a small wire from SBE on the e3 to the nor tristate on the mobo and I have successfully flashed back back the bios but when I start the ps3 it just shuts down again.

I flashed back bios with 1 up and 2-6 down and got all the lights one by one lit up and checked log and says flashed OK.
Then turned power off and put 1 down so all switches on e3 flasher are down and started ps3 with sata cable attached to hdd but ps3 just shuts down again.

Anyone any ides ?

Just had a thought think ps3 firmware was 3.56+ will this make a difference ?

Hi,
you have the PS3 CECHLxx (VER-001), last installed OFW was 411, HDD drive are TOSHIBA MK8052GSX, dump looks good.

if you patched bkpps3.bin for downgrade then it must have SHA-1: 0D1EEC54948D037C550C50E9D36A9B59A151351B

OK thanks, in the last hour I followed Pro.hack guide here - http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=30738

I got further and was able to downgrade to rogero 3.1 but could not get out of service mode for ages with usb dongle, I have now got out of service mode but all I have is black screen and can't enter recovery menu.

U didnt have to do all this,didint u hear wat alex said u have to manually patch ur backed up dump with nor patcher/flowrebuilder for it to flash successfully with the e3 flasher and if u stick to this advice u will unbrick if u want i could upload the 3 patch files for u.

just patch and put all switch dow except the first one and flash then u will be unbricked.

Hi mate, I tried that I used Nor Patcher v1 and patched my bios dump, flashed it to the ps3 with switch 1 up and the rest down and even though it flashed OK when I started ps3 with all the switches down the console still just shut down after a few secoonds.

The problem I have now is will I still be able to flash back my 4.11 bios because I have back to rogero 3.55 ( not working ) ?

If you don't mind patching my bios for me to try and flash back that would be great.

did u solder to tristate?....if not plz do so and upload ur dump i will check it out for u.

Oh and misstake put all switches down except the 1&2 and press start if all 8 leds lights one by one then u have successfully flashed!!!...but make sure u solder and am gonna uplaod a pic of an alternative point if ur sbe broke on the e3 flex cable.
