I've played violent video games for 3/4 of my life and even the most violent, and twisted of games never has triggered any thoughts of feelings of violence against anyone or anything. Parents need to play a way more active role with their offspring now. You can't just put them in front of a TV set and "let the television be the parent" (actual quote from my friend years ago before he had kids, now they barely watch tv). Parents are so uninvolved with their children nowadays. Of course im generalizing, because I know there are parents out there who do take an active role in their children's life, but it's all over the place. All this technology pushes us further and further into a depressing and gigantic mental/physical decline... *** I forgot the whole original topic. The games are getting fancier and fancier but there's nothing that can give you the same mental and physical feeling as actually being in the driver's seat so to say. As like BobbyBlunt said, COD and the likes of games can only teach you so much. If you're gun jams (something that doesn't normally happen in any of these video games) what do you do? Video games won't teach you that. What if you get stabbed or shot? Will you just pull out a hypo and nurse yourself back to life and turn on god mode? I've probably mashed thoughts a bit but, the general idea stands.

I am an avid shooter of real guns and also a big fan of cod games. The game in no way has helped with my shooting skills. There is better ways to train for reaction time that requires movement of head body and arms, not just the eyes.
I just viewed the post above mine and right lol If a kid flips out and brings a gun to school then it's not a game that is to blame. Try blaming his/her parents, friends, or maybe the school. MY 13 yo daughter can shoot better than a lot of adults but knows the dangers of a firearm and the responsibility's. If you going to have a guns in the house make sure it's safe for all, or get rid of the guns. Once a life has been taken it can't be given back Last edited by jr3277; 05-02-2012 at 09:48 AM. |

How can you have, but not own something?
If you borrow a gun from someone else then that person doesn't have a gun and that means that everyone doesnt have or own a gun... unless they had 2 guns.... but did they own those 2 guns or just "have" those guns? Perplexing...

That is a choice you have to make for yourself, felony possession of a firearm is jail time. You could just go buy one lol as long as you haven't been convicted of a felony, like stealing a gun

For starters, If you were to consider CoD or any other war based game a 'training sim' that gives you basic combat strategy then you need some help.
Aiming/holding a gun in real life is much harder than 'Move your joystick around'. Running/sprinting and also hiding as a novice while having a back pack full of equipment for camping/food/ammo is much heavier and harder to carry around than what a video game makes it out to be. If you think you know anything just based of a war game you are sadly mistaken and should not even bother recruiting in the army. Just because you can get a 20-1 kill streak in a game does not make you god in real war.
