I never said it was a combat sim or that it trained you for the military. I said what if it was meant to prepare you mentally for the military.

It wouldnt be the first time the military have used games to get people to join. They promoted Americas army 2 and 3. http://www.americasarmy.com/aa3.php.
^^ very cool game.

Also with graphics getting better and better each generation, they will do it again and again if they can get some results from it. So it wouldnt surprise me if a military was backing games quietly already.

However in there defense if i get an awesome gaming experience from them doing that, crack on. Just note am still not joining lol

Then you are too weak to think for yourself already and actually standing in the front line and getting killed would benefit the gene pool quite well.

Same goes for any so called types of 'training'. They only work if you are susceptible to them, and sorry, but that does equal weakness of character.

Lots and lots and lots and lots of research and results have been done over the years and they point very well to the conclusion that the majority of people in the armed forces long term are there because they are followers not leaders and function best when being told what to do instead of making their own decisions.

Well if annelies conspiracy is correct the last thing they would want to do is train people to rise up against them, and it will happen. Abraham Lincoln called it a long time ago. It was almost as though he could see how the world was going to be

The military prepares you. They break down your mind to rebuild it the way they want it built. How is calling someone you shot "****ing noob" preparing anyone mentally? Sorry but your point here is invalid

Ok i see where you're coming from, But if you think CoD or any other game for that matter are out to prepare you mentally then you have mislead yourself.

In reality what would you do if you got a grenade thrown at you, Press R1 and throw it back?

If that actually happened to you, You can mentally think and say 'run' but whether or not your mind allows your body to do so and failing that you manage to panic/stutter resulting you to trip/fall or just stand there frozen, You will never know until it actually happens.

The only way you're going to get mentally prepared for war is if you actually go on a training camp.

You might be able to lead a squad on battlefield 3 and win a game, But you will not be able to lead a squad in real combat based off what you know from some computer game.

What do i know though, I only have a couple relatives that have joined the army, And had a grand father that fought in ww2.

Computer games over hype you, It's like a car racing game - You can bounce off walls and hit over numerous power polls, Try that in a real car and tell me how mentally prepared you were.

Think about it.
Well then, I'm f'd. I'm always getting slaughtered at that game, well most of the time anyways.

But to expand on what you said, it is not the government, but rather the Illuminati. The Illuminati show us things like videos of the the world trade blowing up, EMINEM's buddy Proof dying, and even Tupac dying... that way when it actually happens, we have already been successfully brainwashed; and will ignore the feelings that it should be causing insides of us.

Mini rant- commercials were put on air originally to pay for broadcasting. Now they want you to Pay for service, but you still get commercials....go figure

On topic, it don't have to be completely realistic. It could be a tactic used to desensitize to reduce hesitation on using a gun against someone.
