The 4.11 spoofer should be fine. The 4.00 spoofer was when this TUT was being updated often.

i dont know what im doing wrong but it wont find the spoof on my memory stick
i formatted it to fat 32
made a folder called PS3
in that folder i made another called UPDATE
and put the spoof pup file in the update folder
put the memory stick in the ps3 and activated the recovery mode onthe ps3
i went to system update and pressed start and select at the same time
and this is the message i get on screen
no applicabile data was found
connect storage media that contains update data of version 3.55 or later

What did u name the spoof update pup as? If the update is named other than PS3UPDAT.PUP, then rename it to PS3UPDAT.PUP and it will be recognized.

so only way to play online is on proxy server or bypass correct ? so if you get a patch for say mw2 only way to use it on the psn is transfering the patch to say your ps3 that has access to psn still ?

That's correct. You need a jailbroken ps3 with 4.11 spoof + the mw2 files, transfer the file to 4.11 ofw ps3 and you can play with the mods on psn.
