ok thanks, but what really the soldering wire does? is it when the ps3 doesn't turn on and gives the red light, or is something else?

If your ps3 stays on when you use flash fun (switch 1 up, the rest down), then you do not need to solder the wire.

Flash the patched backup in flash fun.
Reboot ps3 and see the "connect controller screen"
Cut the power by switch.
Insert dongle, press power eject, wait for ps3 to shut off.
Insert usb drive with files from step 1 folder on the root.
Wait like 4 min for it to install rogero and it will shut off.
Then insert usb drive with file from step 2 folder and it will shut off in about 30 seconds.
Turn on ps3 and should boot to cfw.

If your ps3 will not stay on to use flash fun mode, you need to solder sbe to tristate.

hey player, is it a problem setting up a dual boot setup when you r already at 355. I've installed the e3 and dumped the flash. it appears to be good, from what the wiki says.
I already have a 3.55 hdd loaded with backups already and i dont want to run into a format hard drive situation. I have read your tutorial but i just want to make sure if i have to upgrade,im not going to have any issues getting back down.

When you want to dual boot, take your hdd that is going to be 4.11 put that in your ps3. When you turn it on it will say not the right hdd, format and install firmware.
Then you will be able to use your other hdd for cfw after youfollow the fast dual boot guide.

i've flashed my nor with the patched one, but the ps3 stays the same, black screen. Am i doing something wrong?

hi,

black screen after writing the patched.bin to NOR is normal, so
if you wrote the patched bin to the PS3-NOR, then next steps are:
1. PS3 OFF, then using dongle to get into FSM
2. on right usb-port plugin usb-stick on root rogerov31(dont forget to rename it)+lv2diag.self (365kB), installing firmware CFW
3. out of FSM, using lv2diag.self(202kB)
4. starting into normal xmb, using qa_toggle to later install OFW355 in recovery mode
5. done, any CFW or OFW can now installed

I managed to recover the ps3 by restoring the original nor, but now whenever I try to downgrade, the log in the micro sd, is filled but reaches a part that gives nor programing error.

I already managed to do the downgrade. I've installed Rogero CFW, and i'm using multiman, but every time i copy a game from dvd to internal HDD and boot the game it gives me a black screen. Again the black screens..... What's the problem? Am i missing something?

Did you install the bdemu2.pkg?

Also when I have a problem getting a game to load, I check here to see what it needs.
