I come here to read through threads. I like to read and learn. I also like to help others with their problems, that I may have the answers too.

The past 2 days you have made it hard for me (and others), to enjoy this site, like it is intended. You have made accusations at know devs, that have helped this scene. All you are doing is causing drama.

Test your theories and post results. This can be accomplished in ONE thread. That is correct ONE thread. Where other users can help if they wish.

Mr DefyBoy is correct in what he says though - The info has been there for months on the Wiki, but no1 has the relevant skill set/hardware to convert the info to a reality. I do understand why devs don't want to do this though.

It's simple, the lack of care on the subject.

The developers that are capable of doing this, are not stupid. They have bigger targets than the dongle, e.g. lv0 keys. It's the longer route to take but allows much more than cracking this little dongle does. For some reason this leads people to think that they are doing nothing.

People need to remember that when we get to this level, and the fact that the security was re-implemented in 3.6+ we can no longer use any of the old hacks (which took how long to accomplish?). We are essentially exploiting this console all over again, the only difference is, we know what we need to do and how we need to get there.

Even then, some developers just don't care at even this level. We have linux and we have homebrew to a certain extent. Mission accomplished.

This dongle only has a small purpose, which is piracy of a select few newer games. Something that they just don't care for as it accomplishes so little.

As mentioned earlier - The scene is not stagnant, it is bubbling along quite well.

Here's a thought for the sites/etc - No1 likes GBAFAIL but, they used to offer a Homebrew Bounty - If someone were to put x,y or z in a paypal account or similar * probably something else just in case * to be spread between the team who helped create the next HEN, I feel it would be more beneficial.

People also bash devs for putting their work on PSX but, they do offer a little bit of cash, which in all honesty is probably worth nothing like the time/effort/sleepless nights they put it.

How about Hax does a little HB bounty to try and make this happen? I for one would help contribute in anyway I can. A little C, Assembly, ideas, etc, $

This has been considered a few times over, I even considered starting one up on the wiki - A bounty for the lv0 keys. However, I think that people are still hurt over what adrianc did with his DECR project.

In terms, the dongle is useless. All it really does is authenticate the FW and well update here and there. It may also be used to implement malicious code, like the HDD wipe. That may have well been from a authentication check, and if it failed, it uses system calls to wipe.

Also to everyone else. There is a lot going on underground and a lot has been done. So be patient, it will come, news will spread and sometime again the PS3 will e "hacked" on newer FW in some sort of way.

You can usally smell a troll so once someone new post something, look on the wiki verify it. hell if you want come hit me up on twitter I will come look at it. I just want this new members spam to stop. What is the count of new people saying they're gonna hack the PS3, pwn the lv0. I'm not sure my self.

@defyboy - Personally - I would go for it. Forget about what happened with AdrianC and the Decr, but...........It would put an end to the moaning of x,y or z progress. If you want to see it happen, help pledge to x bounty and the relevant people will help do so.

I understand a lot of us have RL commitments * myself included * I would still be happy to dedicate x hours per week into making it a reality.

From what I can concur from your post is that it would appear a lot of dev's, hardware specialists, etc would be interested in putting THEIR time in provided it's not just an open goal and **** from the END USERS.

I would seriously consider doing this as in all honesty, if the * So Called Scene * does care, they would be happy to contribute a little, even if only a dollar. I know it's not a lot, but, I don't know about you guys, but it's about the quest to beat things for me,
