rsod

i was wondering what cause the rsod.. i was reading a little and there looks as is there are fixes for this. so... 3.56 to rsod to fixed 3.55cfw?

reasons for RSOD are still unknown, it is mostly caused by VTRM becoming corrupted.. You can fix a RSOD by rewriting VTRM using a lv2diag (PS3 already has this feature, it just needs to be called, hence the lv2diag)

You will need to be able to jig into service mode and run the lv2diag, You can use a number of things to do that, I personally use a Atmel AVR (32Kb onboard flash).

Well the methods moogie mentioned are for 3.55 or lower. Trying to fix a RSoD on 3.56 will not give you 3.55 or let you downgrade, it will keep you stuck in factory service mode until someone figures out how to kick out of it from that firmware.

To fix rsod on 3.56+, you need a hardware flasher to downgrade. Then use the method moogie said to fix.

I have done a few.
