Tried installing again on a Phenon with no success. At least i get snow leo 10.6.3 running on my other pc with direct rendering/quartz , sound (thanks to kxproject drivers for the old audigy series) , network etc

ok so here's what i have got. Decided to post my specs.
Mid 2010 MacBook Pro 15 inch
Processor 2.53 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Current OS OSX Lion 10.7.3
500 GB Internal HDD

I have read most of it before and pulled it off easily on an Intel System. No matter how much reading I do I will still be forced to punch myself when it comes to AMD hackintosh

Just attempted with iPC and same issue. Instant kernel panic. I tried to boot -v -f cpus=1 busratio=20 maxmem=2048. No matter what I do I cannot get it to boot to the installer I think I just give up again and go Intel the next time I want hackintosh, but I wanted to do it only for the challenge anyway, because I dont really plan on using Mac much

I know the feeling...you don´t really need the OS, but you MUST be able to install only for the challenge.

You can try alternative kernels like voodoo for amd computers. Ive tried the one on 10.6.3 iatkos s2 dvd and can get past the installation proccess on a phenom+nforce. After the installation, i can boot the system with rd=disk0s1 (even selecting the right sata controller for the chipset, the system was not booting without this trigger) but the performance was drastically affected. This phenom x4 is running 10.6.3 slower than my atom netbook

I think that OSX just hate non-intel chipsets

@hellsing9 did you get accelerated video on your installation? (the option for translucent menu bar is visible on desktop and screen saver settings?) If yes, are you using any custom kext for the gpu?

One very important step you need to do.
Go into BIOS and make sure you have enabled AHCI. Without it you will have major issues and you will also need to use the disk until on the disk to format the hdd before it will see it as a legit device to install to.

I´ve tried with the same gpu from my intel setup (9800GT) and can´t get it to work. Probably the voodoo kernel killed the native gpu support

Tried that as well. My only option left is to attempt a full retail install with the appropriate kexts
