Yes, you can do that on pretty like all consoles with 3D games, PS1 included, it's just that you need to have a cheat engine that edits values from the RAM (like Gameshark for PS1).

One of the reasons I was shouting for a realtime RAM editor on PS3, it just gives endless possibilities, from cheating to experimenting stuff with the game that were never intended to happen.
Thanks a lot for that, I appreciate it.

People, if you want to make widescreen patches visit: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-PCSX2...n-Game-Patches and follow all the info/tools given by contributors. If I can make patches for games, then you can aswell, trust me. Currently I'm investigating some intresting values that force games to render in progressive scan, some of them work some of them have weird results like 2x speed and choped/streched screens, but most of them work with a workaround.

This is only possible because of PCSX2 and GSdX plus their robust error handling measures, so give them props for that. Since PS2 has no realtime memory editing program (such as CWCheat on PSP) such thing with Codebreaker or Action Replay would be virtualy impossible to do especially counting the fact that those cheat devices are also having the malicious idea of encrypting their stuff/cheats (a'la TB) it would have been impossible atleast 'till 2009-ish that the cheat encryptions got reverse engineered. The thing now is that with such cheats it opens new horizons for even more stuff than just 16:9 hacks...

Nah, I meant that it's just the timming that was correct to happen. Now Sony looks very stupid with their (almost)HD remakes. There is no reason to get HD remakes on PS3 anymore when PCSX2 offers better results with the current game you have. One thing that was bothering us was the aspect ratio issue that, in contrast with the rest consoles, it's not universal to every game so all games were stuck to 4:3 that didn't support 16:9. I bet that FFX remaster on PS3 will look inferior to FFX on PCSX2. Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, and Silent Hill series(es) remakes already look inferior on PS3 with the new 16:9 hacks. It's funny how an emulator pushes the envelope on a such boredom-riden company as Sony.

I've been going through that thread you linked, but I'm still kind of lost.. I don't know where to start. For example, I want to test Winning Eleven 9. What exactly should I do next? Where do I go looking?
