Is it true that Kakaroto's next ps3 firmware will not allow to play games from hdd?

I had read that backup managers won't work on his next firmware. Does it mean that it won't allow to play games from hdd? So, will it allow to play burned discs? Plz rpl.

No, no and no.

At the moment it's pretty much vapourware anyway.

No, he stated long ago that the objective is running homebrews not backups.

The whole HEN objective it's homebrews, kakarotos stated too that he don't condone piracy. So forget anything related to backups

I read this article- http://www.ps3devwiki.com/index.php?...ailbreak%C2%B4

There has been written that with NPDRM fixed, homebrew will work but backup managers like multiman won't. Now I'm confused because as far as I know discless games are played through backup managers & if they won't work then how can we play from hdd? Please explain me.

You simple can't if that NPDRM Fixed anytime soon get released will be not used for piracy purpuoses. Homebrew only.
Discless games = PSN. If you mean to play backups on your internal PS3 drive, simple = you can't.
He don't tell anything about the backups, he only talks about homebrew.

Simple put. Breaking NPDRM will allow homemade programs to run, here in is also included backup managers... HOWEVER, breaking NPDRM to get our programs to run, does not mean that our programs are allowed to do anything they want just because they can run. They can only access and do the same as other PSN games - nothing else, and normal PSN games/apps can for instance not use system calls to modify the RAM. We will need to patch the lv1 to be able to use backup managers. The reason for the need to patch lv1 is that patching the lv1 gives us access to some normally restricted system calls, for instance those that allows us to peek(/fetch/read) and poke(/store/save)) in the ram

See lv1 (the hypervisor) as the operating system on a computer.. What KaKaRoToks is doing, is allowing us to run our programs on the computer, and he has already figured how to install them. What to do next, is get administrator rights on the computer, to make our programs capable of accessing whatever they want :]

Ethos to boost the above: I got an A in Unix operating systems

As the others have stated Kakarotoks does not nor will he ever condone piracy.

Can you remember when the first 355 CFW became available and there was a couple of FW that would not allow back up managers to work with them but then came the lv2 patch pkg that would allow backup managers to run?

Same kinda concept.

More than likely that will happen again but his HEN will not for obvious reasons.

As for the NPDRM that will only allow homebrew to run that is the biggest part to try and get around.

But at the moment it is all smoke and mirrors this is why he has not released anything yet because no one has been able to get around the NPDRM to run the installed .PKG's part yet and until it is there will be no 3.55+ CFW/HEN available so this is pretty much a closed topic until then.

Basically quick and short answer.

Kakarotoks is bringing the goods with lv1 access <----- Homebrew.
Kakarotoks is not patching lv2 access <--------------- NO Backup managers.

^ This!

Also, I don't think this will ever become a reality at all, so your best bet for the time being, if you want to hold onto your PS3, is either grab True Blue/JBKing/JB2USB, or get a second PS3 for homebrew/legit gaming, OR grab ProgSkeet/E3 Flasher (the latter is crap compared to the former) for a dual firmware solution.

Alternatively, just go grab yourself another gaming system or a PC!
