Needing help on making a pkg install to a certain dir

Aldos, love your tools man, I am hoping you can help with a question. You seem to know the structure of SFOs and what not.

I am working on something, but I want the package to install to vsh/resource/explore/user

I can not get a package to install anywhere but into game onto the hdd.

I might not have the right tools, I am using ASToolPS3 to make the package. I learned that if you edit the package.conf you can change the ID, but I am not sure how to make it go to where I am wanting to go...

I am basically making a Icon Pack for your account. instead of using the default smily faces I have more. but I am can not get the package down.

I was thinking, if someone could make something like rebugs sound and boot changer. where it installs what you have in a certain folder in the USB to /dev_flash/vsh/resource

but instead installs what is in the folder to /dev_flash/vsh/resource/explore/user

that way people could just label there pics from 00 to 25, put it in the right folder on the USB, and install there own gamer pics on the

You cant install packages in whatever path, this paths are restricted, but...

There is a special type of .pkg that contains "avatars", are the same images you are talking about, but when installed does not replaces the original ones
The bigger difference is this images are contained inside an .edat

One example of this kind of package is: UP9000-NPUO00007_00-AVAPS15ANVSYCOLR.PKG
Is a free avatar released time ago in PSN to celebrate the 15 anniversary of playstation

You can package and unpackage with SCEtool or others, so the bigest problem is how to create this .edat with the avatar image inside it

multiMAN is open source. The source code up to version 02.08.05 is still available.

It is a great resource for learning. It contains all the subs/functions that you could need to develop that tool.

FTP method also works using multiMAN or dev_blind. Although I prefer sandungas idea... write to dev_flash should be avoided to prevent bricks.
