The thing is on most (not all) the hardware used for x360 can be built on your own and the software (open source and dev) is free. Teamx is at the forefront but not the end be all there are other groups out with similar/same solutions keeping prices down. During the initial RGH hack days you had to build out your own "cool runner" and use open source software. So yes people are paying but there are others who will build their own because the software is out there for everyone.

TB and JBK accomplish a task and fill a demand. And they will sell for as long as they do. For those that complain about them they are in the right that this software is being hoarded and locked in hardware. The devs are in the right because they can sell it and demand is high. So far, all that has been thrown around is rumors and hearsay about CFW that may never come. Then there are those that are the worst and use this to capitalize on the desperate by promising non-existent solutions. Some Dev's may have crossed over to the Blue side and others may dropped of entirely. Hopefully a few out there can stoke the embers and bring back what once was.

X360 modd is "free" because more than one team has the "source" except iXtreme patch that is allways free.Stolen or not,its not our problem.And the community agrees that they need to buy nand readers,cpu glitchers,cables,drive power tools etc. HEy its the price if you want a modd and thats how it goes. PS3 mod is not free because only one team has the "source". If more teams would have the "source" , it would be free. Thats how the whole world works,its all about the money. Sometimes there comes a guy that cracks/hacks everything and give people free modd. Like PS3 JB. Remember the iPhone SIM UNLOCK? For a very long time we have to use factory unlock or Gevey/rebel sims for sim unlock. They can give the solution free. But hey,its all about the money.
We should be thankfull that there is ANY solution for any mod,just like downgrade to 3.55 and play new games with TB or any other tool. Ok we must pay,i would prefer that is all free,but hey,thats not so expensive if you want full functional PS3. E3 dual boot (if you want online paying) + TB ,you pay once,you get everything. If you dont want to play NOW,just wait,and maybe someday it will be free. Till then,you can choose,pay and play, or wait.

Some people will simply not get it... and you seem to be one of them. The functions between the 360 hardware mods, and TB are intrinsically different. To you this may not matter, but to me and those that think like me TB is only adding insult to an already dying ps3 scene. I can guarantee that for over 95% of us that don't like TB the $50 has nothing to do with it; I'm actually waiting for a solderless solution to dual boot my CECHE which will be at least twice what you paid for your TB if not 3 times.

P.S. You might be confusing some concepts. There's free = doesn't cost anything, and free = open source, our issue is related to the later.

P.S.S. Actually checked again, it seems it's now possible to have the solderless dual boot setup, it's going to put me back $200, but it's better than buying another ps3, and besides, I can use the progskeet for so many other things :D

I just figured out how to make the PS3 play *all* new games, and it doesn't cost a cent!
It's so simple, I can't believe no one else figured this out. Once everyone finds out about this, TB is *done*.

Go to "System Update", and click "Update via Internet". Install 4.11. Now you can play all the new games, and it didn't cost you anything!

i actually hope that $ony doesent shut down tb..as much as i hate how money grabbing they are, they are nearly the only thing we have...if tb died. thats pretty much the scene in a bag...$ony wins.

if i had a hackable console, i would probably buy tb as well.

it's been almost a year and nothing is happening so i will buy true blue and support it... its the only way to play new games now... i am greatefull to all the devs here but nothing's happening i can't wait forever i want to play new games on a backup... i dont want to get stuck on old games i want to play new games so ill buy true blue... i cant wait forever...

If TB dies the scene will surely have more devs who will work harder in releasing a new cfw... in this matter, I totally support $ony all the way!

You know devs can actually learn something from this TB travesty, just have somebody with an IP in China release stuff initially. I mean it's amazing that sony haven't ordered a thermonuclear warhead to be dropped, or at least to have a Seal team deployed. After the way they treated Graf, I would expect nothing less from them.
