Also helps if you already have the JB dongle to second usb already plugged in during the downgrade
thanks for the advice i'll keep trying

and by the way i've also got a cechho2 model gave a crack at that one but when i went to backup bios the screen scrambled up but the backup was 100% success first i thought i bricked it but the downgrade seemed successful but the hdd doesnt seem to load all the way and i can not get video at all and controllers wont sync think i screwed this one up too

Hi, pro.hack.

I tried your method and it worked right, untill...

... I putted the HDD directly in the ps3 bay.

3,55 was running well from e3, but when i did the change.... brick again.

NOW, no usb ports, so i can reflash all i want, but cant enter FM.
Tried dozens of times with differents methods, but NO USBs.

I think this is the next goal to reach, to fix dead usb ports.

Thanks for your work.

Hi guys i have a problem with my 250gb ps3 model CECH-2004B.I used the e3 flasher and when i put the e3 downgrade bin and hit start my ps3 shut down. When i tried to open it green, yellow, blinking red light.RLOD i thought and i reflow ps3.Nothing.Bribked i said.Connect the wire and followed the guide from e3 team. The process went well and i was relieved, but when i opened ps3 shut down immediately with no lights blinking.I then followed Pro.Hack's tutorial with the mod BKPPS3.All again went according to plan but when i opened ps3 i had a few seconds of hdd activity but no video/audio.Black screen.I did it agian. All went well but the same result.I followed every guide in the forum and read every page but no solution.I was flashing my ps3 for 10 hours with every method, mod dump, patced dump, original dump.Nothing, few second of hdd activity but no video/audio.Desparate i tried for one last time Pro.Hack's first guide
www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=30514.
All again went well until i had to use my e3 card reader to enter servise mode. The dongle lights went red, blue, red and stopped with blue light but the ps3 didn't shut down.I managed to find a solution.I repeated the whole process but this time when i put the dongle i shut the power from my hdd docking. Then the dongle worked as it should. The ps3 was off,i opened hdd docking power and continiued with the other steps of the tutorial. The result was the same, few second of hdd activity but no video/audio.From that point i can't reflash with e3 flasher anything to my ps3 no mod BKPPS3,no original, nothing.I ckecked my OFW 4.00 dump with E3 Nor Dump Checker V1.0 and with FlowRebuilder v.4.2.1.2 and no errors.I know thats not enough but i don't have enough knolwedge. So if anyone can check it for me i would appreciate it.Here it is
www.mediafire.com/?bnes9282763a0rm.
So know what can i do,any thoughts ?One idea is to reball because i might have damaged my ps3 during my noob reflow.I have a friend who is a computer technician. He said that unless motherboard broke in half everything else can be fixed. But if my bump is bad what can i do? I there any hope ? If i change the nor chip i need a god dump to put in the new right? I have a friend with the exact same ps3 model can i use anything from his ? Maybe to extract drivers from his motherboard ?Just a thought.
Any help guys ?????????????

Tried to wire direct power to USB ports and it worked and was hoping the data lines would be active but no go.

Hey guys just droped by to say that the tutorial on the first page (first post of this thread) worked for me.

My situation was this:

I had successfully downgraded from OFW 4.11to CFW 3.55.
The problem was that I didnīt like the start logo (Rogero) and decided to install another CFW 3.55 (Kmeaw). And so I did, but as you might know I got bricked..

What I did to resolve was exactly what Pro.Hack wrote. I did the soldering part and the whole process, just like he wrote.

But there are something I want to note here. I took me many many tries before I could finally unbrick my ps3.

Sometimes I tried to flash his backup file and got error like program NOR failed, many many times this error. Sometimes I was getting NOR writing errors.. and so on.

But the last time, the one which I managed to solve, and I donīt know if this has something to do to fixing it, I kept the mainboard off the plastic craddle. I just kept the mainboard with both metal covers and all connect but out of the plastic box. And only then it worked.

So, this is my testimony on unbricking my ps3, different from some other guy that said it wasnīt true.

Last advice: patience, a lot of it.

Best Regards!!!

well i have a problem i did the soldering SBE but the PS3 only starts and stay ON with the first UP (Flash Fun) and then the leds flashes.
It's the only way to keep the console running, but the eject light (blue) stays on and the red power too.

Don't know what to do..

If you mean the blue leds and by flashing you mean blinking, I think itīs clip connection problem, just that. I also used a coin to make sure itīs well placed.

I got the same problem, but I managed to fix that as I said when I didnīt mount the motherboard into the plastic craddle.

I think that those writing errors happens because of a not well connected flat cable or the E# flasher board, something like that. so after I mounted outside it worked just fine, FOR ME. But I think itīs worth the try.

And once again, have patience, keep trying the restore process. I tried for 2 days.
