Well the game come out recently, is there any way to tell what firmware does it need, or if it is playable in CFW?

it's 4.11. not to bust your balls, but usually release date is a pretty good lead to the fw required. it's gotta be at least 3.76 or something.
i'd love to try it to see how it is compared to episode 1 since that played quite poorly.

actually, i really want like a sonic cd fix the most. that game plays poorly on anything nowadays besides on consoles (sega cd/ps3/360/etc). i always try to play it on xp or above and it doesn't seem to have a proper fix even for pc except the recent re-release. i loved the few bits i played though but couldn't stand having to play it on a small screen.

Your best bet is to grab the game for the PC or the Xbox 360, BUT seeing as it is a PSN-based release, DUPLEX/EXEtrimALL et al might crack it and have it ready for the JB users (obviously not for X360 users though - they're already sorted LOL), but there's no guarantees.

How you acquire the game though is none of my business.

pretty much, man. just watch release sites for it. like g said, duplex is pretty reliable for having releases out of nowhere for decent games.

I'm saying that Sonic 4: Episode 2 already has a release, according to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_4

Also, it's available on Android/Windows Phone (June), and on iOS, PSN, XBL and on PC now (May).

However, seeing as the PSN release WILL NOT be available for the MFW users for now, it is now up to DUPLEX, EXEtrimALL, True Blue (not likely as they only specialize in mainstream releases that are distributed via conventional means) or any other cracking group to crack it and get it ready so that the MFW users can play the game.

Hint: RELOADED have already got the game and released it via the usual distribution channels!

oh, when i talk releases, i mean playable on cfw or on a release site. i haven't really searched extensively, but i don't see sonic 4 ep 2 anywhere. this forum posts releases usually, too.
i'd put my money on duplex; they kinda came out of nowhere with lego carribeans, so maybe they'll have a recently released game soon. they just pop out of nowhere and always put a smile on my face

Well, for the PS3 and for the Xbox 360 releases though, you are right - it isn't available on a scene release site as yet, so you can only wait for the game to be available for the console(s),

However, like I said though, the PC release is already out and it is virtually on every site now, so if you have a good enough PC, you can try it out now if you wish (sucks if you don't like the PC gaming-style setup though).

TL;DR: It isn't available for consoles YET, so you're going to have to wait if you want to play the game on either the Xbxo 360 or on the PS3, but with the latter, it actually depends on a warez group stepping up to the task of cracking the game for the MFW users.
