I want to start downgrade my ps3 slim and i have a usb Dongle AmazeBreak v3.0 .
but I download the firmware for AmazeBreak v3.0 and i see this Notice

Notice: It is downgrade PS3 fat only! Do not attempt to downgrade a slim unit with these files, otherwise it will be bricked!!! DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Hi guys, maybe someone can help, I am trying to downgrade a phat CECHL, spansion nor with the E3 but I keep getting the failed to communicate with bios error (10001100 ) while trying to make a backup. I have shaved a bit of plastic off so it misses the diode, I have tried using coins, hard foam and tape. I have made sure the cable isnt bent and I have taped the cable down numerous times on the flasher end. I have lost count of how many times I have opened and closed my ps3 and how many hours and days I have put into it.

I have searched online and on this site and found others have had the same problem but also found some people saying it works fine. So my question is could I just have a duff E3 flasher?

Also another question, if I have already used the update file in the OP and I tried to update again with the same file, should it update again or would it not update? because it wont update again.

Do I keep trying? I have become quite dis-heartened with it, I dont know what else to do.

EDIT: yeah I put it down to a compatibility issue, another scene fake, shouldnt be surprised really. Just installed it onto my slim and backup works fine. Useless considering my slims on 3.55 already. What a waste of time and money.

I have downgraded a lot of CECHL models. Just did another one last night actually.

Have you tried cleaning the connections with isopropyl alcohol?

Thanks for the suggestion dude, tried the alcohol, and hours later still no go.

What I dont understand is the flasher can tell the nor is being used by the ps3 but then cant initialise backup.

Dont worry about replying as im done with it, as I have shaved off some plastic
I cant even send it back so its going on the bonfire lol.

sound strange to me, normal this error code are allways bad clip on PS3 NOR!

10001100 Failed to initialize PS3 BIOS Check CLIP / clip at PS3 board check may not be properly seated
