And I am "leading by example", I practice what I preach. I'm a hobby musician, been playing guitar and writing music for over 25 years. I have over a hundred songs available online for free download, yes, I just give it away, and each song took hours or days to just record and mix/master, not including the actual writing process. I guess I'm just of the belief that commercialization cheapens art, and hardware/software hacking is a form of art. Have I done anything of note for the "scene"? Well, I don't code, but I'm good with hardware and have a good memory. I absorb knowledge like a sponge, and in my spare time I like to help out other people who have problems. For most hardware problems, I've quite literally "been there done that" and believe myself to be a valuable resource. If I can help someone troubleshoot a flakey PS3, the good feeling I get from that is payment enough, much like posting a song at songfight.org and having someone comment that they liked it. This is how hacking scenes have to work; look at what a mess this one is. And don't kid yourself or make excuses for why it is this way. Money is the root of all evil.

You just need to add one and one.... The long absence before mMCM came out. mMCM looking exactly like his test sample of mM, that was only shown to a few people. Dean not using the PS3HaX mM logo when he "returned". There are many many more, but im fed up with trying to defend this scene, im fed up with trying to get you guys to see the corruptness, im fed up with trying to teach the unteachable. |

I know what you say and sorry for making you feel bad man. I just don't like to be lied to... Anyway, the new version looks so cool. Hope he's gonna change that stupid logo as well.

it COULD be that the Cobra team implemented all of the functions in an API and it was the internal logic of the API that stood for verifying the Cobra dongle was present. If Dean was given the option of using the API in his multiman, I see no reason why he should not. It would improve his multiMAN, even if just for some people, so why not.
Besides, I recall that there were upgrades to non-cobra users as well. Perhaps by implementing their API and adding the functionality the cobra dongle provided, further enhancements would also be provided to non cobra dongle owners? The only issue I see with this, is why Cobra haven't made their API accessible to other backup manager makers, so they could implement Cobra's features too (and hence Cobra would become even more popular). A counter to this, could be that they don't want to have the API public as it would easen and highen the risk of it getting reverse engineered, and Dean seemed like a trustable person to hand it to, which would not leak it. **** it, I don't know. I just know I love the tools he has made, and for that - thank you. Whatever you do now, I can't blame you. And, regardless of what you say the truth is, I trust you, until I get solid proof not to do so anymore. I guess, thats my way of showing gratitude.. BTW, Almost forty? I - based on your pictures - had always believed you were in the mid to mid-late (25-28) twenties, and just a little bit older than me >_< ...On an issue a bit unrelated, I would really like to see the trueblue and cobra dongle broken open.. I am dying to see how they are doing it >.< |
