sicguy i can try to write to you some sort of guide but i am not even sure about the official guide of dh and the member that helped me as several times they told about something but in practice was another . . . as my console hanged,bricked or did not react to the files in the usb as it should. . . and as you can see in my previous posts my ps3 did not work when the logs were ok and it worked when the last one was wrong so there might be some unexpected things during the downgrade . . . but i would still do if as i really did not like it to stay with the 3.56 preventing me even to upgrade to 4.11 ofw . .

notice how many people were in with a bricked console ,but most of them were able to recover as its not a permanent brick most of the times. . . i think that you should read the guide i will write to you (in the next few days as now i am really tired . . )but you also should ask this guy in the forum at this link if he can also help you

Actually i'm after sergio leones dollars trilogy so i've got a mood for western and i'm finishing for the second time RDR. So there is no need to hurry

As for Nand question . Of course i also have nand (diffrent model that yours which mine is with 40GB and no ps2 compability) but also a NAND because of that i was waiting for MAD to come out.

Well if you think about these files that you get from demon hades board fella , and there are not "yours" flash dumps but only a little changed , then they might come handy for me and others.

I've read this first version of guide from dh , and the only thing that is clear for me is how to dump flash. But how to patch it, what put after it , what is need to be changed and how and what to do to load the rogero 3.55 is a mystery for me

sicguy,there is something that i noticed and the guide on Dh or the spanish guy did not really consider . . . but i can't tell you if this happens only on my ps3 or even yours . . .

the thing is that when you try to flash the patched file rflash.bin or dump the 4 files backuprflash.bin,backuprflash1.bin,backuprflash2.bin,backuprflash3.bin

the ps3 must NOT BE IN SERVICE MODE !!
and always use the usb plug first on the right of your ps3

also notice that if you brick it sometimes it would come in handy to have a dongle or android phone with a working ps3freedom ,to put it in and out of service mode . . . but you might do that even without it so i am not completely sure about this point!!i had a nokia n900 and i used that with the xterminal and ps3freedom-enable-maemo.sh etc . . .

as for the guide consider that i am writing it based on my own experience with "My Ps3" and not any other one
my ps3 is a cecha01 ntsc 60gb hong kong version

1)if you decide to patch your own backuprflash.bin remember that is must be the dump of the first 16mb of your nand and not the 256mb even if you have a 256mb nand,so advence.cfg when making the dumps of the flashes must be this way

now keep those 4 flashes in a safe place on your pc

2) rename backuprflash.bin to rflash.bin,drag the icon of rflash.bin over rflash_patch.exe icon see how a dos window will popup and patch your file,the patched file named rflash_new.bin will be found always in the folder C:\Documents and Settings\yourusername under xp even if the files rflash.bin and rflash_patch.exe are located anywhere else when you are doing the patch

locate and rename rflash_new.bin to rflash.bin , if you are on win7 use "find" rflash_new.bin to locate the file

otherwise you could use my rflash.bin that i posted in steep1 ,ask ps3hen and zecoxao about that

files in steep1:your console must not be in service mode, put the files advance.cfg,lv2diag.self and rflash.bin(your own patched with the method described above or the one in the archive) into the root of your usb




3) plug the usb in the ps3, turn it on and wait till it blinks and then turns off with a solid red led . . .note: during flashing and/or dumping no need to wait more than 20minutes as if the tasks aren't completed during that time it means something went wrong and the ps3 hanged or brciked . . . i heard about other members on Dh waiting for 3 hours flashing on a ps3 that would brick after that . . so i am just telling you to ensure you don't waste all that time on it!!



4) now power it on to see if it works,if yes power it off again!
now we need to put it in service mode,here is how

set all your advance.cfg values to 0, all of them!!except this one
#Service MODE function
# 0 = Nothing

# 2 = Entering in Service mode. (need lv1 patch or JFW MA)

put advance.cfg and lv2diag.self in the root of your usb

choose the one in archivo1nobd for this task


plug your usb and power on your ps3 see if then it will power off . . . after it powers off ,extract the usb drive and power it on again and see if its in service mode,(red box over xmb) if yes your ready for the next step otherwise use a dongle or an android phone to put it in service mode!!


5)copy ps3updat.pup to usb root and rename it to PS3UPDAT.PUP ,you will find it in steep2 in the link i gave to zecoxao also put this file http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2l8vyyayeiuy7yw in the root of your usb


plug your usb in the ps3,power it on ,another flashing should start . . . even if you suspect that it hanged keep it for 20minutes in that state . . . or less than that if in will automatically power off by its own!!


,extract the usb drive,power it on . . as see if the rogero title shows up with a red box (service on it)

if yes format the usb drive and put lv2diag.self in "archivo 2" on the root of your usb ,power off the console ,plug that usb drive...power on . . . it will power off by its own,extract the usb drive,power the ps3 on . . . check if no red box is there !!if yes (you are out of service mode)


6) format and rebuild database from recovery mode,install this pkg on your ps3

after you run it you should hear a beep!if you don't author says that it did not work!!
dh says if you do not do this step you will brick your ps3 when you install another fw over rogero 3.55

what happened to me is that i installed it ,ran it , did not beep!! . . . did not care . . . installed 3.55 ofw from recovery . . did not brick . . worked 100%

if i were in you i would do just as i did . . .

if you brick your console during those steps ,get back on this thread or others in on ps3hax as we might recover it (i did with mine with the help of the forum about 10times or more )


another question that have nothing to do with this . . . i don't want to open a new thread or search answers elsewhere . . . too lazy!! :-)

i red that the new firmware of the TB key can run 4.11 games on ps3hax . . . not all of them i suppose just a few right ?

First question , what do you mean your console must be not in a service mode. I did not do anything with mine i play normally games now so i suppose it is not in a serivce mode. Am i correct?

Second question , i've got these files downloaded "advance.cfg" , "Lv2diag.self" and "rflash_patch.exe"

Can you upload the rest of the files that are needed to downgrade? I mean i want just to be sure that there are the correct ones. Don't want to start downgrading (probably will do this in next week) and suddenly notice that i have not all needed files and search them quickly.

First question:if your console was in service mode ,you would have seen a big large red box on your xmb down on the right corner of the screen besides your ps3 controller would work only if plugged via usb cable . . . so definitely you aren't in service mode at the moment!!
its written in the previous post about the red box!!

No prob, now i need to borrow the pendrive that worked with jfw flashing when i did the 1.2 service pack in January this year. Apparently neither of my pendrives worked then so i want to do it with my uncles pendrive (maybe it will be lucky once again).

Quick question i suspect that the ps3update.pup from your 3steps.rar is the rogero v3 , am i correct?
