Gravox knows something, but can't share (fair enough, but as an "inquisitive little rhino" I still wanna know).

euss says its a trollercoaster of bullsh!t and backs it up with excerpts from the wiki.

What do we believe? Surely there is more going on out there than euss knows about?

Working in private is the best way to go I think, or keep to a small group of trusted people. This prevents $ony from making any patches to any exploits you may find, but also stops everyone from posting "Does this mean cfw 9000?!" and then expecting it to be released the following day, and if it isnt they rage like the brats they are.

Most people visiting this site are users not devs, so I dont think it a good idea posting about new dev tools on the frontpage, everyone expects something from it.

best thing would be to make a little private area for proofen developers, how can share thoughts ideas and code if they wish, without n00bs asking for releasedate of cfw and stuff like this, a part of the forum who only the greens can post and talk, or people who have proofen that they kick ass! no one other should be able to take a look besides the mods/admins, and if they feel good about something the still can release it on front page

The thing is, who decides who is a "trusted dev"? If people withhold info (not talking about gravox here) then are they trusted? or is the fact they havn't leaked anything from a higher source proof they are trustworthy? Creating a little circle isn't the best way imho. The "scene" needs to be open and free, but without that constant cry from leechers... its a difficult one I guess.

Could not agree more.

It's already been proven multiple times that a lot of (not all before someone throws a teddy lol) 'trusted devs' are the dictionary opposite of trusted lol

But then u have mods like greg who will be able to see if anything is happening, and we all know he wont be quiet if nothing gets done, and also poss keep us end users up to date with progress without giving away info that sony could use as they wouldnt be able to see it....or just use irc, im.easy :-)

i have seen this on various boards, i think anyone with a green and purple name here can called a trusted member, so if these people make suggestions or "invite" people should work good, offcors the last call is to the board administartion and everyone can post in public if the wish, but i think it makes sense to give people a chance to talk without the average spam we all know and hate :D

i was in several 2nd or 3rd lvl on boards and you will be able to find interesting stuff there. the users can be sure that theyre stuff is treated with respect and if everybody contribute noone will leak the stuff, maybe gravox feels good to talk about his idea if he getnt 1000 pm´s asking when cfw for warez is released

maybe you could call it expert area instead of 2nd lvl and anybody can post his stuff in public if the feel so, its not like you have to used it just to have the chance for it if you dont want to share right away with everybody what makes sense specially in jailbreaking stuff
