Ive got 200 blank "special" TB discs sitting here + 2 TB's to test with. Ive probably wasted about 100 normal BD-Rs on testing it

One thing is for sure, he needs to update that readself-v1, it is ancient and already abandoned by 5 revisions and newer tools already...
Apparently alot of people in this topic do not know what I am talking about (and also do not even know what readself is, how it is usefull and what its limitations are) So I will chew it out for you, with this example of older flawed readself v1, v2 and v3 on lv0 of CoreOS from firmware versions 3.55, 3.56, 3.60, 3.61, 3.65, 3.66, 3.72, 3.73, 3.74, 4.00, 4.01, 4.10 and 4.11 : readself v3 output readself v2 output readself v1 output As you can see those old versions are flawed and report the version wrongly, which is why it was updated on ps3devwiki, git/gitorious and why in the new tools better methods are used (which are out for a _long_ time - so if you are using tools thát old then clearly you are doing things wrong and need to read into the matter more, so you at least /know/ why/how tools are used [and keep updated on code changes and why they where introduced]). /me goes further working on ps3devwiki.com ... (this topic is useless) ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* That is not even an english sentence, nor based on any factual reality as you can see in my examples

So with that in mind, and please no links to something neither I nor the majority will have a scooby doo about, please tell me straight if you yourself know how to run newer games on 3.55 CFW? Last edited by Wolfie708; 05-23-2012 at 11:58 AM. Reason: Removed double negative lol |

So
@euss
, you're saying there's a bug in earlier readself that shows certain selfs as App Version 3.85.0? What was changed in the latest version to fix it (and what caused it in the first place?)

I'm just gonna go Off-Topic to be On-Topic.. or something.. i dont know.
I'm just so excited seeing stuff like this and i'd rather be stupid and happy than just call "fake" like other people like me (stupid people with no dev experience at all.. users you may call us). I love all you devs who are doing "something" rather than nothing! Even if it goes to **** its worth more than selling something that should be free. I'd rather just buy the games and play my emulators on my computer for now. But yeah! Awesome to get any news at all! :D |

Adding version info in appversion routine[/quote] If if remember correct (too lazy to git/gitorious history check filechanges atm), when no known appversion was seen, the value taken from the SELF offset was used and handled wrong, leading to bizar output like 3.85 on 3.55 and more nonsence.

I don't know anyone atm that have those afformented "IF" keys though :/ As to Trueblue/Cobra & clones, I do not think they have keys either. They may have a way to dump things or recode without actually /having/ keys, dunno.
