You know what's odd is that Sony is in debt. Something like 6 billion loss was reported recently. So if Geohot came out of hiding then what is Sony going to do? Use their billions in debt to go after him? Not saying Sony couldn't go after him like before, but the company is sure bleeding. Certainly hurt their reputation.

Not quite accurate; they're not in debt. They reported a huge loss, but 6BN out of 150BN or whatever is kind of like a bad day at the racetrack.

[edit] Also, I'm pretty sure the details of the settlement include monetary damages if he breaks the agreement, regardless of Sony's response. Which means the "Justice" system of the USA would automatically award damages to Sony. I find it odd that a system meant to serve and protect the general public can be so easily manipulated into working in favor of criminals and extortionists...
