Ok so I have downloaded a Red Dead Redemption PKG file from, http://psx-scene.com/forums/f180/new...equests-84071/ First of all do you think that this is a safe download or should i just delete it and not unpack the .RAR file, and secondly if its safe how do I use the PKG file?

PKG will not install at all unless you have a CFW/MFW PS3. And if you do remember to backup.

If done correctly then no. But do you have reason to do such a thing? Are you aware of the downsides?, are you knowledgeable in what you have to do?

I've done some research, is it true you can't go online once your ps3 is jailbroken? and my ps3 is up to date on the updates so I don't think I'll be able to do it, is that right? It says my system software is version 4.11

There is no CFW/MFW for 4.11. To understand it read the PS3devwiki I guess. If you have a supported model you can downgrade and get on 3.55 CFW.

If you can find one make sure that the firmware version is under 3.55 or is on 3.55. From there you can install any of the available CFWs, Be warned ans stay far from any CFW/MFW that is listed as any number 3.56+ CFW they are fake.
