Hallo guys...my PS3 CECHG03 has a broken blue ray drive.So i want to buy another one so i can backup my games and sell my 4.11 ofw slim ps3...Anw i found this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Complete-B...item256fb5b389 but the problem is that i dont now if its going to work. Can someone pls tell me if it works

it might workor it might not work . u will have to check .

with the CECHG03 40 gb model there is 2 version of lazers for it , the 1st lot of CECHG03 that was made had a single lazer len , later on they changed it and had 2 lazers lens 1 for games and bluray movoes and 1 for dvd ,cd .


ok to decide which laser u got u going to have to take you ps3 apart and check your old lazer

if your lazer looks like this ^^^^ its the deul laser as u can see in the pic which is the KES-410A model . so the drive in the ebay link wont work




if you lazer looks like this ^^^^ then u got the single lazer version which is KES-400A which the drive in the ebay link will work

the last time i open my blue ray was about 2 months ago and if i remember correctly my ps3 have one leser so the link might work but ill stil gonna check it in a week or so when my exams at school finish...ohh and thank ufor the time you spent to write find answer me as well i want to thank

As long as your CECHGxx is on 3.55 fw (to remarry the drive), that ebay drive will work as long as it comes with the logic board. You will have to remarry it though.

Rule of thumb for ps3 bluray drives: All PATA (wide ribbon cable) drives are interchangeable (with the matching logic board). Laser type is irrelevant if you are replacing the entire drive with logic board.

u only need to remarry if u are replacing the logic board , u dont need to if its just the lazer and shell which he is doing

Sorry, I didn't see anywhere in the original post that stated that he was just doing the laser, just putting the info out there.
