3.55 overscan issue

Hi there,
i'm experiencing a issue with the scaling on my LCD-TV. i can't remember this issue in the past, but now i'm getting a slightly cut off screen on my TV.
I can't set the overscan on my TV since there is no option for this and never been.
It is noticeable in a bunch of homebrew apps. When i'm starting retroarc for example, the screen is cut off on the bottom and the top. I can't find any options to correct this issue. I've tried 1080i and 720p mode since my LCD doesn't support 1080p.
Hoping for some help.

thanks

Start by telling which LCD TV you got

also, overscan differs on inputs used (HDMI versus MultiAV)

N71 has 2.5% overscan with default firmware. There are customised firmwares around for the N71 that has 'JustScan' feature with 0% overscan on HDMI input.

This sounds very interesting. Never heard of firmwares like this.
I would be very grateful if you could tell me where to get those custom firmwares and how to apply them on the TV.

OtherOS = Linux for PS3's with Original FirmWare 3.20 or lower
OtherOS++ = Linux for PS3's with Custom FirmWare 3.41 or 3.55

Problem is we don't have a driver for the RSX (Nvidia graphic chipset for the PS3 roughly explained) so no real gaming like on GameOS on Linux for the PS3.

Install info: http://wiki.gitbrew.org/wikibrew/PS3...S.2B.2B_How-To
Not recommended for beginners btw, you need to understand some basic Linux commands to use it and with the memory limitation it can't be compared to the way Linux runs on a recent PC or laptop.

I am pretty sure Euss was talking about the TV's firmware and not the PS3's or OtherOS. The PS3 cannot do much about overscan on a TV other than trying to compensate for it. I know that most TV's have some sort of update card slot on them. Mine has it in the hidd front instrument panel.

Ah ok, seems I wasn't really awake when I commented

I think EussNL is talking about the Samygo project:

Yes. This is what i found aswell. But unfortunately this projects targets the new models build after 2009.
I'm looking for a solution for an older N71 Series. I searched all over to find a custom firmware for my model, but i couldn't find anything.
So i'm hoping that euss got something for me.
